Critic’s Corner Review Archive

Welcome to the Critic’s Corner!

The Critic’s Corner, my review archive and depository, hosts my no holds barred reviews, sometimes whimsical and personal opinions on sets. Remember, this is my personal opinion, so if you would like to prove a point or two about the set in question, please contact me.

What do you consider a review?

I consider a review to be a direct outlook on a set, its attributes, and its function along with other sets of its kind. In all, I review the following sets based on the following competency.
  1. Overall Model- How does this model look?
  2. Parts Selection- What parts are included?
  3. Color Scheme- How are the colors arranged?
  4. Function- What can this set do?
  5. Alternate Models- Can this model’s parts build something cool?
After I review these five items of competency, I assign a score to the overall model. If the competency is satisfactory, it gets two points. If it’s average, it gets one point, and if it’s poor, then I award it no points at all. Therefore, If a set gets a satisfactory on two competency, and an average on the other three, I’ll give it a 7. Overall, I find it to be a fair review system.

Review Archive

As of November 23rd, 2002. I’ve decided not to go along with the adequte.com feel for my reviews, as for short stories, you can check out my new era page. I haven’t appended this page for quite a while, however, several new additions shall arrive within the time frame of thirty days or so. My advice? Keep vigilant.

For some more of my reviews, check Brickset, and Allen Bedford’s Apotome page. As always, comments on my opinion are always welcome, so don’t hesitate to ask me a question.
