They are, but not for the reasons you state.

They use the 'MOTM' meaning
Model of the Month..we all know that. My case is, Lego is used to create
'Models'.. L-Draw is a cad, graphics system, which in my eys does not create
lego models at all.

But LDraw *does* create LEGO models. Whether a model's physical
parameters are stored in ABS molecules or mathematical data is
irrelevant. Either method is an equally valid representation of physical
object. In fact, an LDraw model can technically create a far more
perfect LEGO model than can be achieved with actual LEGO parts, since
LDraw is immune to production issues such as mold tolerances, dye lots
and such.

You can argue the word 'model' also has a computer graphics relationship,
but when talking about Lego, model has one meaning: a physical structure
made of lego.

This is a narrow viewpoint. In the context of LDraw, "model" is rightly
applied to both the 3D mathematical modeling aspect as well as the LEGO
construct aspect. This, if anything, makes LDraw's use of the word
"model" more valid, not less valid.

I think L-Draw should change the name of their contest to something like
'VMOTM' Virtual Model of the Month, and the Lego community should encourage
more themed MOTM's.

Nobody, including LDraw, should have to change anything, and nobody
should be intimidated, persuaded, coerced, or otherwise influenced into
not using "MOTM".

The phrase Model of the Month or MOTM has no relation to what the L-Draw
system does. When you here MOTM.. you dont naturally think its means the
model is created within a software application.

Speak for yourself. You may not naturally think it means a model created
within a software application, but others (including myself) may. When I
hear the word "model", several images come to mind, only one of which is
LEGO. 3D modeling is my chosen profession, so when I hear the word
"model", the first thing that comes to mind *is* a computer model. To
co-opt the word as the sole and exclusive property of LEGO builders is
silly, even in a LEGO-centric forum such as LUGNET.

MOTM is a common-use acronym that should not be privatized by any one
faction of the LEGO community. If someone isn't intelligent enough to
apply context to the acronym, they probably don't have the cognitive
skills to navigate LUGNET in the first place.
