Technic MOTM needs a new name.

Hi!
Okay, so here's the deal, Tim Courtney from LDraw.org has asked me to
change the name of Technic MOTM into something _not_ Model Of The
Month since he feels MOTM is "an important part of LDraw.org's
recognition".
I _will_ change the name despite I feel it would be much better for
the AFOL community if LDraw.org were a tad more magnanimity about the
whole deal and -as I do- saw a lot of "(theme) MOTM" as a good thing
for the community.
However that's not the case and they obviously think LDraw.org is the
most important thing here.
So, please give me your name suggestions!
My only suggestion at the moment is T-MOM which, for the sake of the
whole deal, is short for Technic MOC of the Month instead of Model Of
the Month as it used to be. This was the first name I gave the contest
but I changed it prior to announcing it.
Tim suggests "Technic MOC of the Month" which I find rather amusing
since it with ease can be truncated into Technic MOTM :)
Here's Tim's letter in full:
"Hi Tobbe -
I just became aware of your Technic Model of the Month site today, it
appears to only have been running for a month. Its a great
competition for building, but I have some concerns.
"Model of the Month" and its corresponding abbreviation "MOTM" have
become an important part of LDraw.org's recognition in the AFOL
community. We have been using the name for almost 3 years now as
well. I see your use of the name as possibly diluting that
recognition, and encouraging others to come out with "(theme) MOTM"
which would be disastrous for the original Model of the Month in
terms of instant recognition and association with LDraw.org. I also
noticed that you used the LDraw.org MOTM name to promote your contest,
"...not only time to select the best MOTM on LDraw.org, but also time
to vote for the best _Technic_MOTM."
I would like to respectfully ask that you consider a new name for your
contest and you adopt the new name you have chosen. There are other
ways of expressing the same thing - Technic MOC of the Month, Technic
Design of the month, etc etc... It should be of minimal impact to
your own recognition, because your contest has only been running for a
month. We have spent years building up that name, I hope you
understand.
I feel strongly that this will encourage others to create "(theme)
MOTM" contests, and that will spell the end of the unique recognition
of the MOTM name/abbreviation to LDraw.org. It would be a similar
situation if the Cool LEGO Site of the Week were still running, and
someone else decided to make the "Cool LEGO Technic Site of the Week,"
not associated or endorsed by LUGNET/Todd Lehman at all. I'm sure he
would have a similar problem with that.

The only thing I'd like to reply to in his letter that's not answered
in my text above the quote is his notice about me using their name to
promote my contest, I felt I was promoting their contest while
promoting mine when I wrote that :))
However I did select the name Technic MOTM because everybody in the
community know what MOTM is and can figure out what Technic MOTM is
all about...
Well, back to building my entry for this month .)

| I actually think L-Draw is in the wrong here. They use the 'MOTM' meaning Model of the Month..we all know that. My case is, Lego is used to create 'Models'.. L-Draw is a cad, graphics system, which in my eys does not create lego models at all. You (...) (22 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)
