1.  What was your first Castle MOC? (if you remember)

The first one I remember was actually a castle *museum*, in the middle of a
town.

2.  How many MOC's (still standing) do you have?

3 right now - the third is almost done and will be posted soon. 4 if you
count my hill-and-tree setup.

3.  What MOC of your own is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?
(doesn't have to be three different MOCs)

Ahh, tough. (Never mind this was my own question!! ;-)

Hmm. Most intricate is Daphne and Rose's cabin - I love the interior
detailing, although the exterior is pretty bland. Coolest, gosh, I dunno -
really tight rivalry between my Inn and my new MOC, Gareth's Tower. I really
like both. Ditto for favorite.

4.  What MOC of someone else's is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?

Favorite - Craig's Red Castle (gosh, I can't believe it - I have the
pictures for it, and I haven't scanned them yet!! I'm so horrible... I have
to do that ASAP).
Coolest - tough call. I really loved Pawel's "The Devil's Gap", I thought
that was really nifty. Chris, your butcher shop was really cool too, and
Craig's Gregor Tower - well, that was just *awesome*. Not to mention John
Blaze's Ninjada, and Wilson's Valkayria (I love the waterfall)... oof!!

As for most intricate, I think I'd narrow it down to Dave E's village and Ed
Boxer's castle.

5.  What MOC has the best interior? (yours)

My Inn has the best use of space, I think, but I like the interior in D&R's
cabin better.

6.  What MOC has the best interior? (someone else's)

Hmmm, who was it, Chris Gray? (going to check; yep) I loved his barracks,
the interior detailing was just *awesome*.

http://news.lugnet.com/build/?n=3968
http://www.graysage.edmonton.ab.ca/cg/Toys/Lego/

7.  What small MOC (approx. 100 pieces or less) is your favorite?

Only one that comes to mind is Pawel's mini-castle. Very cool.

8.  Do you customize minifigs?

On occasion...

9.  If so, what's your favorite custom minifig? (your own)

The fairy's cool. ;-)

10. Favorite custom fig? (someone else's)

Hmmm... tough call again... I love Craig's stuff, and I saw Chris does some
awesome stuff too. Not to mention the Richards - Marchetti and Schamus -
sweet stuff! And Leah... I'll have to think about it. I really like them all.

That sure made me think! Now, to dreamland.

1.  What was your first Castle MOC? (if you remember)

I don't really remember what my *first* castle MOC was, but I remember
making several castles (not all castles; more like little fortresses) when I
was about 10 or 11.  I had a small cast of characters (giving the characters
the names of some of my friends) and I would act out live battles and
adventures with them.  Kinda like I'm doin' now :^)  When we get a scanner,
I promise I'll post some pictures.

2.  How many MOC's (still standing) do you have?

I'm taking apart Vincent's Stronghold (Valkayria Castle) now, so I can build
some other big things.  I've still got the Malevolence built, and there's
one other MOC that I've had sitting around for about 7 months that I will
show to you soon, maybe this weekend.

3.  What MOC of your own is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?
(doesn't have to be three different MOCs)

I think the coolest one has to be the Malevolence.  The technology involved
in it gives it coolness points.  My favorite and most intricate has to be
Valkayria Castle.  Although I'll always have a special place in my heart for
my "Castle Ship" that was featured in an issue of Brick Kicks when I was 6.

4.  What MOC of someone else's is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?

Oh wow.  That's a tough one.  I'd have to say most of Pawel's structures are
my favorites.  His was the first LEGO Castle page that I discovered on the
internet, and his structures inspired me to start in on all this.  I also
think that Craig's Gregor Tower is by far the most intricate.

5.  What MOC has the best interior? (yours)

I'm not much into interior decoration for my models, but I guess it'd be the
Malevolence, because it has a lot of detail in the engine room below deck.

6.  What MOC has the best interior? (someone else's)

Shiri's cabin for Rose and Daphne was really cool, as was Pawel's "Jubei's
House", I really liked that bed!

7.  What small MOC (approx. 100 pieces or less) is your favorite?

I have made a beast of some sort (don't know how many pieces) that will be
featured in my upcoming story.

8.  Do you customize minifigs?

Nope, I only rearrange their parts.

9.  If so, what's your favorite custom minifig? (your own)

N/A

10. Favorite custom fig? (someone else's)

I really like Memphisto, that red hair is awesome!

Wilson
Thanks for the survey Chris and Shiri!

1.  What was your first Castle MOC? (if you remember)

Just about the first thing I built after coming out of my dark ages was an
early version of this: http://www.shades-of-night.com/lego/mm1.jpg

I built it in our hotel room in London.  I think that's about when my wife
first began to understand what she'd started (by getting me back into Lego),
but by then it was too late... ;)

2.  How many MOC's (still standing) do you have?

None, right now. :/  Everything is apart and getting turned into train layout
material.  No new castles from me for a few months, I'm afraid. :(

3.  What MOC of your own is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?
(doesn't have to be three different MOCs)

My Monsterpiece:  http://news.lugnet.com/castle/?n=6769

4.  What MOC of someone else's is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?

Dr. Carney's castles.  All of them. :)  (if I have to pick one, then Chillon,
probably)

5.  What MOC has the best interior? (yours)

Monsterpiece again.  More specifically, I was happy with the inside of the
tower.

6.  What MOC has the best interior? (someone else's)

I was really impressed with Chris Gray's barracks building.

7.  What small MOC (approx. 100 pieces or less) is your favorite?

I think it's got too many pieces, but I'd have to say Shiri's microscale
village.  That thing rocks!

8.  Do you customize minifigs?

Ish.  Not really, just mixing and matching for the most part.

9.  If so, what's your favorite custom minifig? (your own)

My Mercenary Captain - but that's at least in part because the chainmail was a
surprise gift from one of my non-Lego friends. :)
  http://www.shades-of-night.com/lego/captain.jpg

10. Favorite custom fig? (someone else's)

Dunno.  I don't actually pay enough attention to the custom figs.

1.  What was your first Castle MOC? (if you remember)

Hmm... it was either a small forester's stronghold using the parts from 6066
and 6054, or it was a keep using 6040 and the wall sections from
6061 to add to my first (and favorite) castle 6074. I can't remember as I
was fortunate enough to get the Forester's and 6074 around the same time and
remember incorporating the forester's into the path approaching the castle..

2.  How many MOC's (still standing) do you have?

None for Castle at the moment....unless the scenery for my upcoming story
counts..

3.  What MOC of your own is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?
(doesn't have to be three different MOCs)

Probably the forester's stronghold for favorite and coolest.. for
intricate.. maybe because of the scenery it would be as well. I never used
to be too much into interior detail of my castles. The Foresters were my
main thing because they were my "elves", being a fairly big ElfQuest fan as
I am. :)

4.  What MOC of someone else's is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?

This is such an unfair question - I love everyone's work here!

If my poor eyesight let me pick more of the details out on Craig's Gregor's
Tower I'd probably cry. Every time I go back and look at it I find something
else I missed in the architecture.

5.  What MOC has the best interior? (yours)

Not sure.. as I said, I never got into interior detail that much until
recently and I haven't gotten my Castle MOC's started up yet....

6.  What MOC has the best interior? (someone else's)

Hmm.. Shiri's Inn is excellent, as is Pawel's "Jubei's House"...

7.  What small MOC (approx. 100 pieces or less) is your favorite?

I'd have to say that Bill Farkas' recent Wolf Battering ram (Or was that
Chipmunk? <G>) would be the one that comes to mind ATM.

8.  Do you customize minifigs?

Occasionally.

9.  If so, what's your favorite custom minifig? (your own)

Beliwyr: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=26662

10. Favorite custom fig? (someone else's)

Pretty much anything Craig's come up with, probably. :)

Great idea!

1.  What was your first Castle MOC? (if you remember)

A modified version of the blue WP wagon IIRC.

2.  How many MOC's (still standing) do you have?

About seven. I’m including small structures that aren‘t homes. (such as
portals)

3.  What MOC of your own is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?
(doesn't have to be three different MOCs)

Aquana Pynora for all three.

4.  What MOC of someone else's is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?

Favorite: Ed Boxer’s Castle. It was the very first MOC I ever saw, and I’m
still incredibly impressed by it.
Coolest: Wilson Raska’s Valkayria Castle. Great castle, wonderful landscape.
Most Intricate: Craig’s Gregor Tower. Amazing details.

5.  What MOC has the best interior? (yours)

Honora and Noble’s house. Aquana Pynora has a very nice interior IMHO, but I
like how much I was able to put in 1/4 the space.

6.  What MOC has the best interior? (someone else's)

I think Shiri Dori’s Rose and Daphne's cabin. It inspired me with how well a
small structure can be furnished if you use some imagination.

7.  What small MOC (approx. 100 pieces or less) is your favorite?

Kyle Peterson’s Monument. (That is under 100 pieces right? I’m a lousy judge
of piece count.)

8.  Do you customize minifigs?

Yes.

9.  If so, what's your favorite custom minifig? (your own)

Noble Gralldeath

10. Favorite custom fig? (someone else's)

Could I just choose the entire craigo-lego page? No? Well, I guess Craig’s
Wolf-Fig.

1.  What was your first Castle MOC? (if you remember)

Um...a castle.  Based on the Yellow Castle, I'm sure.

2.  How many MOC's (still standing) do you have?

Sure, ask this *after* I go through a big disassembly period. (Took apart the
Dragon Clans fortress and the unfinished Grey Wolf's Tower)  um...1 medium-sized
(Red Fox's Den), a couple of  small (a scribe and a blacksmith), plus if you'd
like to count the Goblins, 3 more small.  Oh, wait! Cornelius' machine is still
together, it's just in another room so I forgot about it.  I've also got the
Chrome sets together for now, but they aren't MOCs.  And there's one that's sort
of Castley-Piratey-Science Fictiony that I haven't taken pictures of yet - I
want to do a bit of redesigning first.

3.  What MOC of your own is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?
(doesn't have to be three different MOCs)

The one I haven't built yet.  Or the abovementioned secret project.

4.  What MOC of someone else's is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?

Gotta go with Ed Boxer's Castle. Good Gawd.

5.  What MOC has the best interior? (yours)

The Fox's place, I'd have to say.  So far.

6.  What MOC has the best interior? (someone else's)

If I say Shiri's inn, do I suck up to the survery taker? 8) Actually, I think
the interior there is well done, especially for so small a space.

7.  What small MOC (approx. 100 pieces or less) is your favorite?

Right now I'd have to say the Goblin Flying Machine.

8.  Do you customize minifigs?

All the time.

9.  If so, what's your favorite custom minifig? (your own)

I don't know if I have a favorite.  Dr. Cornelius is fun...I like the
anti-paladin I did...there's some good ones on the crew of the Aurora (whoops,
said too much)

10. Favorite custom fig? (someone else's)

No preferences here.

1.  What was your first Castle MOC? (if you remember)

1/2 of a castle.

I never seem to finish my MOCs; I run out of bricks, then when I get more I
shred and redesign and rebuild something else I don't have enough bricks for.

2.  How many MOC's (still standing) do you have?

1/2. I'm due for a rebuild soon.

3.  What MOC of your own is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?
(doesn't have to be three different MOCs)

Right now, it's the Green Wizard's Tower. I had to move the pictures
offline (ought to get me a Brickshelf account). While it's not complete,
the landscape it's built on is some of the best I've done. It's built up
against a cliff face (booby-trapped to keep people from scaling down from
the top of the cliff), complete with waterfall, hills, paths, and such.
The outer walls aren't anything to write home about, but the inner keep (only
the first three floors are done) are well furnished. Since the pictures
I posted last time were shot I've added a few buildings to the inner yard,
notably half a smithy, half a barracks and half a tavern.

4.  What MOC of someone else's is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?

Couldn't say. There's too many different _sorts_ of MOCs to even list
favorites in each category.

5.  What MOC has the best interior? (yours)

See 3, above.

6.  What MOC has the best interior? (someone else's)

See 4, above.

7.  What small MOC (approx. 100 pieces or less) is your favorite?

Uh... Does my half-a-tavern count? It'd be over 100 pieces if I ever finished
it...

8.  Do you customize minifigs?

Sort of.

9.  If so, what's your favorite custom minifig? (your own)

A Minotaur I did for a D&D game a while back.

10. Favorite custom fig? (someone else's)

Hm. Too many cool custom minifigs.

1.  What was your first Castle MOC? (if you remember)

Something along the lines of the Great Wall, shortly after getting 6080 (my
first castle set-- prior to 1986 I only liked space sets...). I was amazed
after getting it at the amount of grey BRICKS that I suddenly had...
previously, grey plates I had in abundance, but VERY few actual grey
BRICKS... I was psyched...

2.  How many MOC's (still standing) do you have?

Castle MOC's? Hmm... I guess that depends on whether or not you call the
entire village a single MOC or not... Some of the standard houses have come
down, and some of the tan road has been uprooted, but otherwise it's still
together... And I've also got the gatehouse still up... So... 1.8 Castle
MOCs still standing?

Non-castle MOCS, just the AT-AT, a mech, part of a technic bicycle, and
everything I built for the Greenburg train show recently... so roughly 12 MOCs?

3.  What MOC of your own is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?
(doesn't have to be three different MOCs)

Well, I gotta go with the village for all 3...

4.  What MOC of someone else's is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?

Wow. It's REALLY hard to choose. Some of my favorites in all these categories:
-Ed Boxer's Castle (of course)
-Eric Brok's Frost Castle
-Eric Brok's Estuary Stronghold
-Dr. Carney's Castles, particularly Chillon, Caerlaverock, Conway, & Bastille
-Craig's Gregor Tower
-Pawel's Devil's Gap
-Dan Siskind's Bloodstone Castle

5.  What MOC has the best interior? (yours)

Tough to say since I haven't really done that many interiors :) Probably a
castle I built a couple years ago that never made it anywhere public...
Although it wasn't all that great...

6.  What MOC has the best interior? (someone else's)

Far and away, Ed Boxer's Castle. I mean WOW. Go look at it again. Really.
WOW. NOTHING I've ever seen in a castle MOC even begins to compare...

7.  What small MOC (approx. 100 pieces or less) is your favorite?

Hmm... tough call... I really got a kick out of Jeff's version of Dr.
Cornelius' mech.

8.  Do you customize minifigs?

Nope. I just switch around heads, legs, and the like (not as often arms, but
sometimes)

9.  If so, what's your favorite custom minifig? (your own)

N/A....

10. Favorite custom fig? (someone else's)

1. Go to Craig's Pages.
2. Now click on a few random links.
3. Now pick a random custom fig on that page. *That's* my favorite one.
4. Repeat as necessary.

1.  What was your first Castle MOC? (if you remember)

A two hinged waal section of a white-red castle. Still in shape, although
very likely to be breaked down sooner or later.

2.  How many MOC's (still standing) do you have?

5

3.  What MOC of your own is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?
(doesn't have to be three different MOCs)
My favorite is a little castle, momentaraly the home for my chess king.
My coolest is a wonderfull pirate ship i'm building.
I guess that's also the most intricate.

4.  What MOC of someone else's is your favorite, coolest, and most intricate?
I don't remember names very well, but i remember this huge red castle i've
seen a few months ago. Very, very impressive!

5.  What MOC has the best interior? (yours)
The chess king castle, although my pirate ship is competing!

6.  What MOC has the best interior? (someone else's)
I liked very much the pictures (and storyline) of Shiri's story.

7.  What small MOC (approx. 100 pieces or less) is your favorite?
A wooden easy chair (again in my chess king castle)

8.  Do you customize minifigs?
Not yest, but I'm considering making a monk with secret magical powers.

9.  If so, what's your favorite custom minifig? (your own)

10. Favorite custom fig? (someone else's)
I like the ones of Shiri (the one making spells) and i like the storyline
with figs of the Verneer story.
