Say, although DM seemed a bit surprised when he realized he was trapped in
the final containment field adjacent QGJ's, do you think there's any chance
that DM might've somehow known about these a little bit ahead of time and
planned it that way?--as a way to separate OWK from QGJ?  If he could figure
out a way to fight each separately, it would give him a much higher chance
of winning the battle.  Same with playing "stupid" in front of QGJ...


Lucas reported that originally he wanted to
have doors close in on them, however with doors, they would not be able
to see each other.

Much better the way it ended up!


You will note that both Obi-Wan and Maul start pacing back and
forth with anticipation while Qui-Gon begins to relax and meditate.

I thought OWK was jumping/bobbing/stretching and DM was pacing.  BTW, I
thought the way DM paced back and forth like a rabid tiger was *SO* *COOL*.


Lucas wanted each character to be able to see each others responses to
the pressure and their surroundings.

Man, that scene was the best!

Remember how fast he and QGJ moved when they were on the ship and facing the destroyer droids? Then they were moving at "ludicrous speed" -- (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.starwars)
