I checked my calendar. September was nearly full. We had talked about Sep 1-3
(Labor Day) but I found out I'm busy then. I'm available Aug 26-27, Sep
30 and Oct 7-8 plus all of October.

Whether to have a meeting of GardenSLUG at my house some day:

First, my home is 77 miles from Chris' house, formidably surrounded by Queens,
New York. It's not what you would call *centrally located*. So I'll check now:
who would likely make the trip over?  Not necessarily next time, just any time.

1. By train, it  is 15 minutes from Penn Station (New York) if you catch the
half-hourly Kew Gardens LIRR, plus a 5 minute walk down 3 blocks of picturesque
Building Ideas. Trains rule!

2. By subway it's about 30 minutes on the E-train from Manhattan and a 10 minute
walk (or just take the bus.)

3. Finally by car (street parking available) it is about 2 hours from NJ. For
upstate NY, it's about 20 minutes from Whitestone.

The LIRR schedule is at http://www.lirr.org/lirr/html/ttn/kewgarde.htm but click
on "weekends, To Jamaica" because the default is weekdays. For example find the
train that leaves "New York" at 1:05 and visits Kew Gardens at 1:21.

Second, my living room is 20x12, a little bigger than Chris' lego room. It's got
Lego everywhere in one half with 2 tables for building. We could use the floor
in the other half. Six people would probably be comfortable, I think more would
start to be crowded.

Don't forget to chime in with "Yuck! Go into the city???" or "Sounds doable!" I
suspect there are some New Yorkers about, let me hear from you.

Oh, just for Lindsay: the Q10 bus is a 25 minute ride from JFK airport. (:

Hey Erik, I'm not real fond of going into The City, but if the directions are good, and I can use mass transit, then that improves the odds of my attending. :-) On the other hand, I don't know what kind of MOCs I'd be bringing on mass transit, (...)
