Glad the EV3 software download is free. It would definitely support the students working on their programs outside of the lab. Also I got an interesting reply from lego. I asked them why all of their motors were slow. I MOC'ed a 8090 Supercar together with a 30,000 rpm 7.2 Hobby RC motor. Saturday Academy, the non-profit I taught summer camps for, provided my class with pre-ordered NXTs the week they became available. That was before the recession. Iain, How much power do you want for the electromagnets, and how rapidly do you need to switch them on and off? Threre are two fixes to the "A critical error has occurred" problem. One fix is to uninstall the latest Quicktime and install the older Quicktime version from the RIS CD (or any Quicktime version older than version 7). Another fix (described earlier (...) I know what the answer to this one is! I solved the "A critical error has occurred" problem with Robotics Invention System 2.0 by uninstalling QuickTime and installing the QuickTime version from the RIS 2.0 disk. Don't forget to delete the (...) (13 years ago, 2-Jun-11, to lugnet.robotics)
