OK, it seems like there is enough interest to carry on with this so let's.  Are
we all thinking a weekend day?  Is Saturday better than Sunday?  Should it be
for adults only?  How long a meeting?  What times?

Matthew Karius: my schedule makes it hard to find time for almost anything >
that I can't take my kids to.

What age kids?  I have son who is almost six.  If there are a few folks with
kids of compatible ages, we could do a double LEGO based get-together (one for
kids and one for adults), but again, this might better be done at a later
meeting.

Who is interested?  I am imagining this to be for people centered on the
wideish corridor between NYC and Philly.  I am in central New Jersey.

I got a couple email responses, but they're at home and I can't see (or
remember) them right now.  So who want's to meet?  I see that we have interest
from:

Christopher Weeks (me)
Lindsay Braun (for 1.5 months, anyway)
Erik Olson
Andy Lynch
Bryan Kinkel
Jennifer Maher (and SO)
Laurajean Murphy
Matthew Karius

and I don't recall if the emails were from those listed above, or from others
who haven't chimed in.  Consider this an open invitation to anyone else out
there from whom we haven't heard.

This isn't the most important matter, but:

What would it be called?  NJLUG would be OK,

After suggesting that, I also thought of MetroLUG because I think of NJ (though
I know it's not really like this) as being divided between the metro NYC and
metro Philly areas, with just a touch of (pretend) rural areas around the
fringe.

Also suggested have been:

TriLUG for the tri-state area (NY, NJ, PA, I'd say)

UMALUG for upper mid-Atlantic LUG

DVLUG - Delaware Valley LUG

MPHLUG - Metro Philadelphia LUG

GPHLUG - Greater Philadelphia LUG

I would personally prefer to not use the last two because it limits the feel of
the name.  NYC people might not feel as free to participate and I'd like to
appeal to as broad an audience as possible.  Otherwise, I think they are all
acceptable names.  I'd still like to give some thought to names that are not
dependent on the LUG acronym.

Anything else to consider?

Christopher Weeks

I just thought I would chime in here quickly. I know you noted in your first post that all followups would be to .loc.us.nj but I would suggest keeping NY and Phi in the list that way you are sure everyone gets it. I would also suggest adding (...) (24 years ago, 27-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.us.nj, lugnet.loc.us.ny.ny, lugnet.loc.us.pa.phi, lugnet.loc.us.pa.phi.all, lugnet.org.us)

(...) Are (...) In general a I would guess Saturday would be better because it gives the option of meeting in the evening. (...) Seems to me the obvious would Metroliner - the Amtrak train connecting NYC to Washington DC with stops in Jersey, Phiily, Delaware, Multibore, etc. Is this group for trains only or can anyone attend? (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.us.nj)

Hi All, I returned yesterday evening from the EastCoast Brick Fest put on by WAMALUG. It was cool. It appears that there are quite a few folks around who are LEGO enthusiasts, and I thought it might be nice to put some kind of club together for (...)
