The Northern Army’s command structure is very important to the workings and the power the Army can command.

Supreme Commanding General (simply General): (Charte Sutton) has complete controll over the actions of army, and is the only one who is responcible to the civilian government. All other officers and soldiers are responcible to him.

Lieutenant General Commander (simply Commander): The SCG’s 2nd in command, has the responcibility of carring out the SCG’s orders. If the army is divided in two, the LG will serve as auxillary commander.

Subcommander: (3) The Subcommander actually leads the soldiers into battle, according to orders. There is one Subcommander per regiment, with regiments divided along weapon used basis (eg. crossbows, muskets, or rifles).

Major: (3) The Major serves as the Subcommander’s auxillary, much the same way as the Commander serves the General. Majors are considered soldiers.

Lieutenant: Lieutenants are highly trained soldiers, and therefore recieve higher rank. In order to wield rifles, Sutton requires that a soldier be a trained Lieutenant, thus giving his riflemen added skill. Non-rifle lieutenants often serve as majors (subcommander’s auxillary) although they may not actually have the rank yet.

Solder: Below Lieutenants are regular Soldiers, the men who fight and die in battle. Sutton prefers range weapons, such as muskets and crossbow for his soldiers.
