Nice compact design with hardly any hard-to-find parts. Only problem is it
won't work for me. Maybe you opened your switches and trimmed the tab off,
so they would slide more easily?
With unmodified switches, the white gear engages before the switch is thrown
(for me, at least). Any suggestions?
Also, two design suggestions:
1) Extending the axle from 3 to 6-long allows you to put a visual indicator
on the exterior of the housing, so you can tell which way the switch is
thrown from far away.
2) The piece with the built-in rack is the piece I have the least of. You
can use the same piece without the built-in rack, and just add a 1x4 rack
piece. Then build the base up by one plate so it will fit under the gear.
Nice design though (if I can just get it to work!)

| (...) Nope, I've made no modifications to any parts... It would be like cutting my own flesh! (...) Hmmm... I haven't experienced this problem (yet). I used a relatively new/unused white gear so perhaps mine doesn't slip too easily? A problem that (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains)
