Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points —Ross Crawford
(...) I was investigating your automatic switching track setup, and have a question. In the picture where "B" is in the common section, and "A" in the inner track, the bottom switch would be "straight", because "B" set it as it passed. This means (...)          Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points —Wessel Burgers
(...) Thanks for your comment Ross. I actually built the setup that I show on my site in order to test if everything works alright... and it does. Wessel (23 years ago, 19-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains)

        Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points —John R. Clark
Nice compact design with hardly any hard-to-find parts. Only problem is it won't work for me. Maybe you opened your switches and trimmed the tab off, so they would slide more easily? With unmodified switches, the white gear engages before the switch (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points —Wessel Burgers
(...) Nope, I've made no modifications to any parts... It would be like cutting my own flesh! (...) Hmmm... I haven't experienced this problem (yet). I used a relatively new/unused white gear so perhaps mine doesn't slip too easily? A problem that (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points —Steven Barile
I notice that there is a Force (or Power, Resistence...) rating on the side the white gear. Are they all the same or has LEGO made different ones? When I tried using the white gear (in many different configs) I could never get the gear to throw the (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic)

Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points —Wessel Burgers
(...) I don't think so... (...) I think I found a possible explanation for why It didn't work for you guys. It has something to do with the way you connect the 1 x 4 Liftarm to the switch. Look at this: (URL) tried this at home and when I connect (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic)

Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points —Zhengrong Zang
I sued the right way to switch point, but the point never moves, only white gear in rotation, I used a Battery box to test it, is it any problems? BTW, does anyone know any other practical automated switch point else? Zhengrong (...) (23 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic)

Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points —Zhengrong Zang
Could you tell me the part number of 4x6 special plate in your instructions? Which set include it? Zhengrong (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points —Wessel Burgers
(...) I got mine from the 8479 Barcode Multi-set. I think there is a similar one, in red, in the 5533 Red Fury Model Team set. cheers, Wessel (23 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points —Zhengrong Zang
I found this one has no enough power to pull or push switch point, why can you use it in your case? (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains)
