The MF, Slave 1, and minifig packs!!!  Just add an AT-AT, and you've got a grand slam for 2000.  Hopefully they'll get them out for
X-mas this year, but maybe they'll try to make do with the current line-up.

Let's see, the MF would obviously be the high-priced set at +$100.  How big would the Slave 1 be compared to X-wing?  Probably in
the $40-$50 range?  So then you need  ~$30, ~$20, and a couple $5-10 sets.  I'm guessing we'll see a regular TIE Fighter, probably
at $20; maybe an A-wing at $30.  An AT-ST (selectively compressed) or a cloud car could also come in at the $20 level.

What's left to do for smaller sets?  Maybe the sand-skiff used in ROTJ for the rescue.  How about the escape pod used by the droids?
That seems about it for personal craft, which leaves scenes, like the cantina or Degoba (can you say Naboo Swamp w/ a hut instead of
the STAPS) or an Ewok village.  Got any other ideas for small sets?

Have we been posting to lugnet.cad.dat.* again? ;)

For smaller sets, how about an Ewok target range?  "Here, Wicket.  Take
this apple, go stand over at the far end of the lane, and put the apple on
your head.  Now hold still..."

Maybe there won't be a full range.  They've got 13 sets now (not including
the MINDSTORMS Droid Discovery Kit), and I'm assuming those sets will carry
over for 2000.  So they might just round things out with three or four new
sets.

I bet a Slave 1 would be a $30 set, just like the X-wing and Sith
Infiltrator (if there are only two of them, and they keep their identities
secret, why do they have a ship named after them?) (idea on identifying the
second Sith: impound Darth Maul's ship, and wait to see who shows up to
claim it).

I think an AT-ST would be more likely than an AT-AT.  And it could have
Chewbacca! :)

Steve

I'm thinkin' that the one and only Chewbacca of the entire series will be in
the MF, so people will have to spend 100+ bucks to get one, but then again,
that would be an awesome set, so people would buy it anyway.

(...) Two things. The Slave 1 is not a very easy ship to design well with Legos. I should know, I've been working on one for a few months now. I'm not convinced that there will be an official Slave1. I'm also a little scared that if it is made it (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jul-99, to lugnet.starwars)
