Many malls and universities have also closed for the day, but not the
elementary or high schools.

Flipping thru the channels looking for as much info as possible, many stations
have stopped programming and just have a note on the screen saying their hearts
and prayers are with the victims and their families. (QVC, Home & Garden, UPN
are just a few.)

It's going to be very freaky when the planes are allowed back in the air. I
live about 40 miles NW of O'Hare, the planes are on descent when they go over
our house. It will take some restraint not to freak out about it.

Here at Rice University King Abdullah of Jordan was scheduled to speak tomorrow
but that has been cancelled.  NASA has been closed and, as I understand, much of
our downtown (Houston) has been evacuated.
