Work

Now that plastizens aren’t required to live at the office any more, the 9-5 pace has slowed a little. Nonetheless, our community’s members busy themselves with police, fire, and coast guard services, moderate retail opportunities, an extensive equestrian training facility, the transportation and shipping industry, construction, and various other opportunities for the laboriously inclined. Strategic zoning requirements ensure that the doughnut shop is near a police station and that the bank’s drive through teller is on route to the nearest fast food restaurant.

Without a crocodile to wrestle, Steve searches unavailingly for other wildlife.

Business has been booming at the fix-it shop, ever since Lenny took over the used motorcycle store next door.

Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to work we go.

In Penny Lane there is a fireman with an hourglass; And in his pocket is a portrait of the Queen. He likes to keep his fire engine clean; It’s a clean machine.

Rank has its privileges

Nothing will stop these hard working protectors of the law from getting their daily dose of delicious doughnuts.

This monkey snuck up on Steve while he was tickling a rhino. The rhino swirled around, and the poor monkey simply passed out.

The traffic lights don’t seem to provide much help since red, yellow, and green are lit at all times.

But fortunately vehicles, bikers, and pedestrians are quite curteous and move at a very slow pace unless adjusted by the HOG.

Ponch and Jon to the rescue.

Twins - doubly so.

Mack never forgets to wear his hat again.

Who knows what they’re building? But they look mostly busy, don’t they?

Break time.

Attention, please! The train for....here...departs momentarily.

Every Wednesday and Saturday the assimilation truck makes its rounds.

Free parking

Free ride

Why would someone dump these perfectly good parts right in front of our tools?

Where are the cherries?

Two more studs and stop.

Here you go, squeaky wheel.

The container yard is full of bustling activity.

Well, mostly bustling anyway.

Secluded from view (except for cops and firemen around the corner) the exchange takes place.

More cargo.

Birds eye view of the container yard, crooks, cops, and burning apartment building.

The firemen and women finally have something to do!

Excuse me, but I’d like to leave now.

Calvin seemed to miss the building.

But he was always fond of designer wear.

Help is on its way, but I sure hope those copter tanks are bigger than they look.

Save the doggie.

Gertrude is going in while the jump cloth is being secured.

Like greedy fingers the flames devour space itself.

Gawk.

Need a refresher?

And when the fire subsides, we get back to normal duties.

How sneaky. But nobody exceeds the knob limit today.

Vehicles. Sorry, but I can’t think of an original caption this time.

Parking meters.

Someone forgot to put in enough change.

Poor lighting or an exposed electrical wire? Your choice.
