Hello,
I have been a Lego maniac for years, with the excuse to buy all those sets
for my kids.  Now they are into older things and I have had to admit I am a
Lego maniac myself.  The kids have graciously turned all sets over to me.  I
have been amazed at the number of adults that love them.  I find it very
reaffirming that I am not alone.
I especially enjoy trains and monorails.  I have always loved trains, but
the O gauge required too much room and too much patience to keep them running.
So Lego trains have been the perfect solution for me.
I have been reading the net pages and was confused by the term point.  I
think I figured out from context that it is the British term for switch.  Is
there any place with a glossary of terms for model railroaders?
I have enjoyed many of your web pages, and am inspired to get my train
running.  I also have a new Cargo Railway on the way in the mail. My family
found it on clearance sale at the Walmart in Evergreen, Colorado.  (Sorry,
don't know if any are left.)  It will be a long time before you see any
pictures as I have a few details to clean up (I am finishing a masters thesis
in geology).
Make it a good day.  Louise

(...) Right, in exchange for the totally ridicuously tight/unrealistic curvature, we get layouts that can fit on card tables. Not a bad trade. O scale curves need to be 48 radius or bigger to look good. I find LEGO(tm) trains ideal for me (Ex HO (...) (26 years ago, 15-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)
