David V. Winkler / sculpture / rings |
Early in my work with sculpture, I worked a lot with simple geometric objects. My second sculpture was a torus. For simplicity I generally call it a donut. I built and rebuilt the torus while working on my sculpture software. I would make plans, build from them, and draw a circle around what I considered to be places that I could do better. I ended up taking apart the white ring for pieces. I published plans after the judging at the fair.
