The Avek Ridge Raid. 26 Sx. 900

The Northern Army 1st Regiment, returning to Coplton in loose formation, unaware of the Firriney rebels taking positions all around them.

Suddenly the rebels burst out of the woods, Mel Kian leading the way!

But these are not simple men, eager to retreat. The Lonsans begin to fight back, but because of the close range are unable to fire their weapons. Lord Neuborg, afraid for his life, races his steed away to safety.

Kian did not think he was attacking an entire Regiment, and as quickly as they appear, the rebels disappeared back over the ridge. But rebel archers attacking the Army’s rear, lead by the notorious Blackhand, has killed Commander Moring! Blackhand and his fellow archers run to escape the retribution. The Lonsans are able to take down one of the retreating rebels who chose to run along the ridge rather than up it.

Subcommander Ronnel, stunned by Moring’s death, quickly takes command and leads his men away from the ridge, carrying Moring’s body. The added weight of a fallen comrade, and the urge to be ready for the next attack, slows the 1st Regiment to a snail’s pace. Unknown to Ronnel, he is also going the wrong direction now! (NW instead of SW)

Kian’s men regroup to discover they have taken an unexpected treasure: Neuborg’s assistant Bellnin!
