Abhavans
The Abhavan Tribe resides mainly around the River Killaree (abhain means river) in Coplton and Glen Daerndd. They are also the descendents of the ancient qans of caerany, which used to rule from Cairn Qaatore, in Coplton.
Melkya Dokeste of Aniez
| | Dokeste is a popular leader of not just Abhavans, but Caers generally. His clan is the Blue Dragon Clan. The Lonsans usually treat him as the peoples representative because of his relatively moderate stance and acknowledged wisdom and leadership. Dokeste first gained fame during the Rebellion of 879 by stopping the Lonsan brutal counter-rampage, and rebuilding Copecaer. Some virulent nationalists call Dokeste a traitor, but many believe him to have saved the Caers from near extinction.
|
Mel Sesoly of the Blue Dragon Clan
| | Sesoly is a solid supporter of Dokeste, although perhaps more of a nationalist and anti-Lonsan than Dokeste appears to be.
|
Mel Pwyll of the Red Dragon Clan
| | Pwyll, unlike the majority of Abhavans, lives in Glen Caer (center of Shivan Tribe), and acts as Dokestes representative there. Pwyll is more independently minded than Mel Sesoly, but generally agrees with everything Dokeste decides.
|
Mel Miran of the Lion Clan
| | Being a woman in the harsh politics of Caerany can be rough, but Miran is up to the challenge. Both intelligent and skilled, she has lead her clan well. Although she is loyal to Dokestes leadership, she stands as a possible replacement for him as melkya.
|
non-tribal figures of import:
Domino Minola
| | Domino is the head of the wealthy Minola family, which owns both the First Bank of Coplton, and Minola Weaponry. Domino is perhaps the richest single Caer, and has great interest in maintaining the trading links that being apart of the Lonsan empire entails. His wealth alone gives him importance.
|
Octavian Gentileschi
| | Octavian is the head of the Gentileschi family, which stands as a rival to the Minolas. The Gentileschis own a bank (in Glen Daerndd) and are prominent traders. In order to attract business, Octavian voices a more nationalistic tone than Domino, but has just as much to lose with Lonsans being forced to leave.
|
Calib and Beth Simkul
| | Calib and Beth Simkul own the Simkul Inn and Tavern in Coplton. Although not really that wealthy, Calib and Beth are important because the Inn, beside the Aniez House, is the main place things are planned, especially anything anti-Lonsan.
|
David Brucker
| | David owns the Brucker Inn in Glen Daerndd, the first place people go when they get off the riverboats or the ocean boats.
|
Keyan of Teyrnon
| | The Teyrnon are a fairly wealthy family in Coplton, and Keyan is the head of the family. The Teyrnons are very nationalist, and often urge Dokeste to take steps that may be unwise.
|
Mavesta of Aniez
| | Mavesta is Dokestes daughter, and although not apart of the Tribal heirarchy, takes care of alot of Dokestes responcibilities. Some claim that Dokeste is grooming her to replace him, which may be true, although that would require her entrance into politics sometime soon.
|
Rain and Maeve of Llyra
| | Rain and Maeve Llyra are warriors in the Lion Clan, but have also taken to opening bakeries. Currently they own them in Coplton, Glen Caer, and Glen Daerndd. Their family is currently growing in respect and prestige, and they may be possible contenders in the political scene soon.
