Anachronistic skies locations

A list of various cities, landmarks and areas of importance scattered through post-apocal Albatross and its periphery.

Allercus - A free and peaceful city, Allercus is positioned on a strategically excellent point, a plateau overlooking the forests and lowlands which surround it. For many years, it has been the center of a progressive movement towards self-governance, and is one of the few democracies within Allercus. Due to the progressives, there is also little emphasis on religion, although the state does officially practice Kai Ne’hr, but in a universal manner. Originally founded by a philosopher named Re’Aka, the city has stood its ground for many years and emanates a sense of interest for those with scholarly interests. The city has a political council elected by the people and a military (of which everyone must join for character building purposes.) Artisanship from Allercus is generally considered to be something of merit.

DPR (Dragonia Provincial Republic) - Territory located to the western region of Lucca Archipelago, the DPR serves as the capital city of the Ahrikari and is a center of commerce for the region. Known for its council of elders (CE), an educationally elite class and vast scores of artisans working under the government, the DPR has considerable clout along the archipelago and abroad. The DRP is divided into a number of teritories, each administrated by a governor and a member of the CE. Several of the territories border the ocean, whilst others surround the periphery of the main capital, for strategic reasons. Though it is not located at the religious center of the Ahrikari’s faith, it does mark the birthplace of two of the eight apostles of the convergence.

Gariland - Famed location of the “Gariland War”, a conflict between reptilian and human factions ficfty years before the setting of Anachronistic Skies. The area was located between Faiye and Allercus and was lost after the conflict. Due to disrepair in the roads leading to it (it is a mountainous location), the city was abandoned and lost.

Faiye - Mercantile city and port serving the eastern coast of Albatross. For several centuries, it has been under the ministration of the Akaeli, devout believers in a local theocracy. The people of Faiye are generally wealthy seamen and merchants and are known regionally for their maritime expertise and artisanship. Faiye plays host to a variety of schools, particularly those of theocracy and philosophy, and there are some progressive elements within the city, due to immigration from various regions, such as Kasketua and other ports of call.

Kasketua - Former region of Antipodes, is a heavily mountainous region with sweeping vallies, which lies surrounded on all sides by miles of nothing but desert. Located far to the west of the DPR, Kasketua’s region is headed by a number of former technocrats who inhabit the ruins of a once great city within the area. The Ahrikari, knowing this, take exception to any mechanical practices, and have meddled in the affairs of the city, attempting to annex the territory for quite some time. On the shores of the desert region surrounding Kasketua, the DPR has set up several colonies which serve as outposts about the area. Curious philosophers and merchants typically defy Ahrikari decrees to avoid the area, and rarely ever return. Those that do usually spread ‘insurrective ideas’ according to DPR reports.

LaGuardia - Considered the birthplace of modern civilization, LaGuardia exists as a tiny island off the coast of Faiye, housing a modest population, and a small navy. Though considered independent by some, the government of Faiye and the DPR have fought for some time to claim the territory, mainly due to its religious and policital significance. It is held sacred due to the commonly held belief that LaGuardia is the remains of the Sky_Sphere of Lucaria West, one of the last bastions of the pre-apocal world. A particular point of interest for many visitors to the island (if they’re lucky enough to see it) is a point known as ‘The sum’mit’ in which the eight apostles converged. Almost all known historical accounts dating back a millenia confirm this, and it’s curious to know that the island is not the true capital of the Ahrikari.

Lucaria - Sky_Sphere and capital city, Lucaria was divided between an aerial presence and a ground presence, both of which commanded a great deal of influence before the great conflict. Both areas of Lucaria served as a grand waystation and nerve center of much of Terra’s commerce and industry and played host to a diverse population. Politically, it was ruled by a committee of nine technocrats, though only one was known publically to the people. It is said that Lucaria was regarded as a holy place, and was built over the regions of a previous city (Antilade) that had collapsed in a similar way, but most of thise information is dubious or unfounded. Currently, Lucaria is a land held sacred by the Ahrikari, and is hence, uninhabited. There is no current information on the condition of the territory, due to the difficulties of reaching the area (it is surrounded by large mountains.)

Outlands - Territories generally regarded as claimed by a particular government, but unsettled due to logistical problems. Areas such as thick forests, rocky terrain, mountains, marshes, and at the far eastern ends, desert, are scattered all over Lucca Archipelago, making for difficulties in building and agriculture. Since most of the major cities are situated on shores or lush, fertile areas, the open territories are inhabited by small, unknown groups, which are collectively known as ‘outlanders’. Most of them build small settlements on the less desirable territories, and a number of these settlements serve as outposts along the stone roads connecting the major cities of the region. These tend to be small family run villages, but groups of vagrants and anarchists have also set up settlements, though they are further from the roads where government patrols routinely protect the settlements.
