A Non-Entry Example

Here is a little ship built in the style of the 928 Galaxy Explorer, 924 Space Cruiser, and 918 Space Transport sets:

I won’t enter this, but I hope it can serve as an example. I think it captures the style of the other three ships pretty well, but it also “cheats” a bit and uses at least 3 elements which didn’t exist in 1979. One is the 2x2.5x2 box with door at the stern of the ship, the other two are the 4x4 trans-yellow hinged roof entry to the cockpit and the 1x4 plate hinge that it attaches to. (There might be others...I forget.)

If someone could figure out a way to re-engineer a ship like this using only period elements, I would be extremely joyful to hear about it (and see it :-)! One other problem with my design is that the tail end likes to fall off. In the quest for “realism,” I sacrified a bit of structural integrity. Points off for that, of course. :-)
