Boston & Maine GP9 Bluebird

See Version 1

Here is my revised Boston and Maine GP9 Bluebird. I have removed the camel hump from the middle (Will Hess - Thanks for pulling me back into the world of LEGO Model Railroading where sometimes we have to compromise). I have also completed the trucks and added ladders. I found the ladders challenging in that with the tight radius of LEGO track the trucks kept knocking the ladders off. I did find a happy compromise and it works well now.

I have also lowered the pitch of the roof over the cab and moved the horns on top of the hood. For those that are into cab interiors it is fully decked out with controls and a clock. I still have to get a good picture of the interior but I will keep trying.

For referance here is a picture of a G Scale B&M GP9 Bluebird

Now, on to the nits :-) To fix the "camel-hump" I'd delete the top row of slopes (but keep the inverse slopes!) and use a layer of plates and / or tiles to model the upper (...) As always your criticisms and nits are welcome. Please LMKWYT with a reply to this LUGNET message.

Re: Boston & Maine GP9 Locomotive *(Version 2)*

OK thanks to some very helpful advice I made some significant changes to my Boston & Maine GP9 Bluebird. Its probably best just to see it yourself. I have a write-up on the page as well. (URL) always comments, nits, and criticisms are welcome. Eric (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.trains)
