I do have a few questions for you.

1.  How big was your setup (How many tables and how big are the tables)

Our first layout was 10' x ~13'.  An oval composed of 10 40"x40" tables and a
lower 40"x60" table.  The pattern was like this:
XXXX
XX X
XLXX   the L represents the low table.

2.  How much did the show cost the group in terms of supplys (tables, table
skirts etc.)

Each table costs a little over $30.  Our tables are pretty cost intensive for
their size compared to other clubs.  I think skirts for all the tables cost about $75- Jeff
Stembel's mom was kind enough to sew them for us.  Supplies for the crowd barriers ran about $15.

3.  How many trains did you run or did you only have one long oval of track?

We basically had two top loops, one each for passenger and freight.  There was
a figure eight on the low table that had a 4561 running on it as an example of
the current product line.  At one point we had a total of four trains running on three loops.  We
can do more than that with DCC.

4.  How much scenery did you have?

Tons!  Almost to the point where scenery is more important than trains, the
club is working on achieving a balance between the two.

Here's some pics of the first layout.

5.  How many people would you recommend for policing the layout and should
there be someone in the center of the setup with others policing the outside?

This size had 3-4 people policing it at all times.  We were one of the few layouts that had people
talking to viewers.  Our center section could only really fit
one person at a time.  You can build crowd barriers out of old LEGO buckets.
There's a pic of this at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1241

Any info would be great because if we do this we want to know what we are
getting into.

One thing that should be noted is that this is the Greenberg Train and Collectable Toy Show.  We had
some tables set up displaying supercars and other non-train creations.  People got a kick out of
this.  We also had a small playtable for the kids.

If you have anymore questions. just ask... :)
