Hi I'm new to both this newsgroup and Lego train.  Recently I bought a 4559
train and I have an old 7835 level crossing.  I'm just wondering if they
work with each other and if not, how can I work ith the 7835 set so that the
rail will actually work with the 9V train.

7835 is 12V. The track is not compatible since it has plastic outer
rails. To use it, buy a box of straight track (4515?) and rebuild it
using 9V track. Since this crossing is manually operated, you'll be all
set.

Or, buy a new one and sell the 7835. I'd buy it. I'm not "crossing
complete" yet. 146 is very cool, it does not use a baseplate!  But I
think 4539 is my favorite. (although in the box picture, the attendant
is gonna get clipped by the train if he doesn't move)

The 7834 level crossing,(if it's automatic, I can't tell) will be much
much harder to convert, because automatic crossings depend on some sort
of sensing of the train, and if that sensing is electronic, it may well
be incompatible with the 9V track.

I'm assuming that 7834 is automatic, because it's not called *MANUAL*
level crossing the way 7835 is. Does anyone know for sure?

Here's the list:

ps:  does anyone have a 3225 set for sale and how much ?

Shop at Home has them. I have not seen them in stores in the US. I want
to say 66 bucks.
Are you in the US? if so, call S@H. If not, get a US friend to get it
for you if you're not somewhere that has it yet.

So I guess my 7835 has no actual use in my Legocity unless I buy a new set of train that works on this type of rail. Also, how come there's a sign saying 7835 is a 4.5V set on my instruction? I'm really confused in this issue. Larry Pieniazek wrote (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

According to my site... (URL) and 7835 are both maunual 7866 is remote control (not automatic, it has no sensors) 7834 and 7866 are 12V because they come with the centre 12V conductor rails, 7835 does not, so without modification it only works with (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)
