Personally, I think your choice makes a lot of sense, and I agree with you
that it would be good for the community to have a simple and straightforward
name like "[LEGO] Technic MOTM".

To be honest, if I went looking for something called
the Technic MOTM, I'd probably go to ldraw.org first to
find it. So, I think you can call it what you want, but
something else might be better.
"MoTEC" just sounds so cool, how can you resist?
(mentioned earlier in the thread) It even has an
international feel, like "Model 'o de Technic de Competition"
:)
