Hello, I am a new user to the Bricx Command Center.

Forgive me if bad English. I seek to connect my CyberMaster unit to Bricx
Command Center, though I get the error "No connection to the programmable brick"
upon each time started. I use the original CyberMaster tower connected via a USB
to serial adapter to my computer. My computer is 64bit and Windows 10. I have
heard of success in connecting to this brick and using Bricx Command Center. Any
helpful advice?

Thank you,

Answer: It is simple: I used the prolific usb to serial adapter, configured the
Serial communication to 9600,8,n,xon/xoff , took a NULL-Modem Serial Cable and
linkt pin 4 and 6 on the 9-pin connector together. After that communication to
the brick succeded on windows 10 for me. May this helps out

Indeed :( ... so I only check here from time to time. You would probably get
faster answers on Mindboards
(https://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/mindboards/index.php).

Thanks for the pointer.

Now, question is, does anyone still have a specs page listing the technical
details of the cybermaster? I am particularly interested in the storage/program
capacity before I consider what to actually do with the old bricks.

Memory is very low, about 400 bytes!
http://www.crynwr.com/cgi-bin/ezmlm-cgi/7/28560
But useful programs can be written nonetheless:
http://www.blockcad.net/cybermaster.htm#flexible_programming

Cool, I'll have to take some closer looks there as well. I knew this was going
to be time-consuming again ;)

Also, I've found one of the built-in motors going slow. Is there any way to
disassemble and "grease" (or otherwise fix) them?
Not that I know. Probably the same problem as 71427 motors (magnet slowly
turning into powder)

Having found the comments on that problem, I was almost fearing you might say
that. Best thing in that case may be to still have the odd spare cybermaster
lying around and make one working unit out of two. It all depends on when the
fun effect wears off with the kids - RCX is probably more flexible and the
motors a lot easier to replace (I'm not saying cheaper, just easier).

Thanks,

Jerry
