Welcome to the LUGNET Member Password Center. This is where you can give yourself new passwords and retire old ones. If you want to use more than one password, you can have up to 4 and use them all interchangeably, just like having a spare set of keys.

If you want to give yourself a new password...

Before making a new password, read about What makes a good password and try out the Password strength analyser.

Kids: Ask a parent to make a back-door password to your account for safe keeping in case of emergency.

If you want to retire an old password...

Warning: If you retire a password, be sure that the one you are keeping is sufficiently burned into your memory. Retire old passwords only after giving new ones time to sink in. In fact, you don't actually have to retire an old password if you don't want to.

2. Type the old password you want to retire:

If you want to retire all old passwords...

Warning: This will leave you with only one password.

If you simply want to change a password...

Warning: Changing a password in one step is very dangerous. This option is not recommended. If you want to change your password, it is highly recommended instead that you first add a new password, then come back later to retire your old password only when you are completely comfortable with the new one.
