What themes are people complete in?

Hi everyone! This has just crossed my mind right now. I'm curious to see who is complete in collecting Lego themes? Meaning, who has every set in any of the following categories: 1) Town 2) Castle 3) Pirates 4) Trains 5) Space 6) Technic Those are (...) (23 years ago, 3-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) Well, I'm Arctic-complete if that counts :] I'm one set short of being Divers-complete. I'm a few sets short of Star Wars complete by choice and will stay that way. I think I'm Adventurers("Egypt")-complete too, I'll have to check. Wow! An (...) (23 years ago, 3-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

Does being complete mean getting every set a particular theme? If so I probably don't have a single theme that I'm complete in. I do have sets in a lot of subthemes, especially with the larger sets in each sub-theme. I have Flying Ninja's castle, (...) (23 years ago, 3-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) It's a little tricky to define completeness, but by reasonable qualifications, I'm Wild West complete. By stretched qualifications I'm Pirate complete (but I don't consider myself to be Pirate Complete). What I mean by reasonable completeness (...) (23 years ago, 3-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) I have all of the Throwbots. Well, all of the building sets, I didn't bother getting <set:8508 the extra disks>. But I do have one of each character. I would also like to own a complete set of RoboRiders and Bionicle, but I can't find (...) (23 years ago, 3-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) Where do you live Bradley? I know a place where they still have all the Throwbots and all the RoboRiders in Ontario. Too bad I just saw that post, I was there today. (23 years ago, 3-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

Hello! (...) That's really true. There are so many sub themes out there that really make completing an entire theme undesirable. I probably should have cleared things up. When I think of completing themes I think of the stuff that came out between (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) I define "complete" as meaning that you have all the sets and all the service packs released for a particular theme, but not necessarily every variant of a set or every promo that used pieces from the theme (thus, you wouldn't have to have (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

Brendan Coughlin wrote in message ... (...) complete (...) I have only come across people trying to be Technic, Pirate, Castle complete and once in a while someone claims to be town complete. Well I am garage door set complete. I wonder how many (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

I am BURP Adventure complete:-) <chest pounding> -John (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

I define "complete" as....you must have the sets in a theme that permit build "all" the sets in a theme (one at a time). I think I am motor complete (without trains motors), technic complete, pirates ,western, mindstorms complete. LEGO complete is (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Frank Filz wrote: <SNIP> (I'm not sure if there's a Pirate keychain for example). <SNIP> (...) Yes there is, Sadly, I used mine on my keychain and it's a lot worse for the wear. It was a Cap't fig with pegleg and hook hand. Tamy (23 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

Hi, I'm "Pirate" complete! In fact I'm almost complete times two with the pirates! I'm only lacking duplicates of a few smaller sets. I even have the pirate keychain! As for the subthemes, I'm "forestmen" complete including the dark forest sets! I (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) Do you have all 4 Ladybird comics? Do you have both the US and UK versions of the 6255 comic? Do you have the Pirate T-Shirt? Frank (23 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) Hi Frank, The original question asked who had every set in a particular theme. I don't consider the comics or the T-shirt a set. I do have two of the 6255 comic, but I don't know which versions (probably US). I don't have all the boxes to each (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) Actually Manuel, I am not Classic window/door complete. In red, white, yellow, blue, black and gray, there are 113 different classic window/door varieties, I have 111 of them. There are 2 that I am missing, but I haven't really attempted to (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) Thinking of window completeness, I have a question about the Minitalia windows. Should they have LEGO any where one them? I got some windows in a lot from Germany recently which appear the same as the Minitalia windows, but don't have LEGO on (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

well, my bro and i bought just about every CS set until about 1987 so we're prolly almost complete there... as for my own collection, i'm trying to buy the one/two/few sets that i like in EACH theme as opposed to having a complete set of any theme. (...) (23 years ago, 7-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) I am complete in the Adventurers Amazon sub-theme, in that I have all the sets and instructions. I still have the boxes though they have been opened so that I could build the models. Of course, this is one of the smaller sub-themes and also (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) Do you have all the promo sets? The existence of promo sets is what keeps me from being complete in things like Adventurers, and especially Castle sub-themes (where there are a TON of promo sets). Frank (23 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) About 6 weeks ago the Virgina Lego outlet had the Capt. Red Beard keychain and a Majisto the Wizard keychain. And when I was at the Georgia outlet about 3 weeks ago, they had Majisto (but no Capt. Red Beards). Anyway, they do phone orders, so (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)

Re: What themes are people complete in?

(...) I'm about 95% Castle-sets-I-want complete... Does that count? ;) (meaning I've got one or more of just about every castle set I'm interested in) James (who has no tendencies in the completist direction *at all*) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.general)
