Here we go again in Portland! Just over 2 months till Brickfest PDX 2007!!
Frank Filz, Brendan Mauro, and I are coordinating the Castle display along with
other Historical (Pirate, Adventurers, Wild West, etc.). Weve got plenty of
room in Convention Center so wed like to make this display bigger than the one
we had at NWBC. The combined Castle display at NWBC was a huge success using
CCC, Base8, and unique creations. If youre planning on attending and depending
on the theme please e-mail us, reply here, or join in the discussion over at
Classic-Castle and
let us know if youre interested or not in participating in a combined display.
Also please let us know what youre planning on bringing so we can get a general
idea of how much area were going to request. Based on the response were
getting over at Classic-Castle this is going to be a very large combined
display.
Wed like to plan for a fun time to be had by all so send us your ideas for
events youd like to see happen. Well have Show n Tell, Castle Community
Roundtable, and most likely a Landscaping discussion. Please let us know what
else youd like to do. If youd like to do a particular session or contest just
let us know and well help make it happen.
Well most likely start a separate email list for planning the actual display so
to keep the final presentation a bigger surprise. Weve got to keep those
Train guys guessing!
Weve got plenty of time for planning and building so start brainstorming those
ideas for creating one of the most exciting Castle displays ever!!!

In the future, two rivaling dojos fight in the shadows. Here is an attack made

I'm posting on behalf of Jon Rasmussen, the Other Historical Coordinator
for NWBrickCon 2005, who currently doesn't have access to the Internet[1].
If you'd like to bring a MOC featuring anything from the past that isn't
Castle[2], let us know!
We want your Pirates, ancient Romans and Greeks, Ninjas, Adventurers,
Vikings, and most of all Wild Westerners. If you've got MOCs from eras in
history of which I haven't even thought, we want them.
Just drop me a note (tws <at> morfydd.net) with [Other Historical] in the
subject line saying roughly how much space you'll need and I can relay
that information to Jon. That way, at setup time on October 7th you can
go straight to Jon and he'll have table space ready for you.
Please send your space requirements (especially for large MOCs) by October
1 so we know how many tables to apportion to Other Historical. If you
don't tell us ahead of time, your gladiators might have to end up herding
cows on Jon's Wild West layout.
If you have yet to sign up for NWBrickCon 2005, head on over to

A while back, I happened across some real cheap basketball fig packs. I got to
thinking about the springy legs, and what other possible uses they could have.
Well, that night, I was playing the game Soul Calibur II. For those of you who
have not played it, it is a great fighting game which also features some of the
most... well-programmed gravitational physics, let us call it. Due to this, the
one character that will usually stick out in every mind (ok, every male mind) is
Taki the ninja.
Taki stands tall at 13.5 inches, and has 28 points of articulation (arms, legs,
neck, waist), or 30 if you count... the gravitational physics. She has a red
veil on because this is what she wore in Soul Calibur I (and I didnt have the
piece in tan ;) ).

And if youre wondering what the reason for the whole basket ball fig story:
