Posted an update to the LDraw.xml last week to my site, was hoping to do some more but di not have time.

So here is 4.40 (Working 1,770+ , need work 213+) You can find it here HERE

Still looking for help, so if you have some free time please let me know. Have over 212 mapped parts that need to be adjusted. And I’m sure there are other LDR parts that are not mapped to the correct LEGO part number.

Enjoy! Mike

and a single space before the description.  Anything longer and you'll
get the ragged look and a truncated description.  But hey, if we keep
most of the names to 11.3 and under it looks pretty nice:

6028.dat        Animal Dragon Tail
6133.dat        Animal Dragon Wing
6133longfilename.dat Animal Dragon Wing Long version
4493c00.dat     Animal Horse (Complete)

Here's what -8 does to the long filename.  Is that ok?

C:\LDraw>diff -b parts.lst parts.long
11c11
< 6133LO~1.DAT  Animal Dragon Wing Long version
---
6133longfilename.dat Animal Dragon Wing Long version

I put a beta executable here if anyone wants to shake the bugs out.

Hey--that's exactly what I was looking for.  Thanks!

Yes.  I never got around to put it into the LDraw version.

Also, LDView complains about two missing sub-models, h-doer.dat and
lukket.dat.

I better look into that, when I add the roof.

Play well,

I’m open to changing the license. (L)GPL is fine with me. I think the same goes for the Creative Commons licenses, but I would have to take a look to make sure.

Basically, I am interested in maybe uploading the town to a CVS or SVN repository so that continued work can occur in a visible and organized fashion.

A publicly visible version control repository is a very good idea. (Wouldn’t a DVCS (like Git, Mercurial or Monotone) make more sense than a CVCS?)

Play well,

Jacob

Hi everybody !!
As promised, even if a week later, here is another program update.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Before continue: if someone downloaded the program on September 2, 2013 before
this announce, probably got a wrong version. If this is the case, download again
from now.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Most important new is support for Mindstorm EV3 parts and a bounce of bug fixes.

As often, here is a presentation video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=789rUyiNy_s

Follow a list of changes:

Fixed
- Flexible parts with fixed length can freeze the application
- Hinge Solver now works with 32494.dat parts: just place on their final
position and select both of them with the Hinge Solver tool
- Hinge Solver now works with Universal Joint 3L in all cases
- Mirror building now works again
- Using Half pin with stud part can occasionally lead to an error
- Some gears interferences in particular compact mechanisms

Added
- Support for Mindstorm EV3 parts (Thanks to Philo for this!!)
- Latest Official and Unofficial lDraw parts update

Using 3.40 - Why can't I check Rotation Vector in the Rotation & Orientation
window on a 6629.dat Technic Beam 4x6 Liftarm Bent 53.13?  Seems the inability
to check the box to activate this option has been problematic in the past.  I've
searched posts to find a solution, but nothing specific had been offered.

There was some mention two years ago that it was a bug. Is there a fix?

Hi everybody,

after another loooong wait, here is my latest release available as always from
http://sr3dbuilder.altervista.org/

Most important news are:
- Extended functionality with pneumatic (still a bit buggy, but can't wait show
my progress)
- Extended animation capabilities as shown in the videos

here is a complete list of changes (most bug fixes, but maybe some new bug
also...)

Version 0.8.9.16

Fixed

- Importing a model with assemblies in a empty model can cause application crash
- Bad Differential animations expecially when double geared. It is important
that the orbital gear is placed orthogonally  to the transmission axle
- Sometimes a gear connection may interfer with a universal joint
- Importing a model causes first element of the imported group is assigned to
Model (root) group
- Fixed some particular usage of PinBushes (at the cost of a some delay in
solution computational of big models)
- Moving gear or bushes along a vertical axle to place them is now smoother
- Using mirror building with Alternative UI should now work
- Using AlternativeUI now predilige same alignment connections while positioning
parts
- Selecting multiple parts was problematic while in AlternativeUI
- You can use the CTRL while pressing PgUp/PgDw to higher or lower selection by
a 1/3 brick
- Restored the SetGridToBrick functionality
- Fixed some issues in flex part management
- Trying to change flex color when first placing it crashed the application
- Fixed an issue in quad animation in a 2x3 connection structure
- Trying to change rotation axle while in animation causes application crash
- Small Linear Actuator moving direction

Added
- User interface setting could now be saved in the preference dialog box ONLY
- You can now select and move a flex part when using the "Select Connected"
option. Clicking on a flex part for starting selection is not recommended
anyway!!
- Patched parts: battery box, Medium Powerfunction Motor
- Models backup files can now be disabled
- Support for medium size pneumatic pistons
- More complicated mechanism computation are now supported like the Theo
Jansen's mechanism

Changed
- Now the program pre-detects triangled undeformable structures to allow less
errors in mechanism computation
- Drastically reduced part list loading time

And finally the videos (any comment is welcome  :P  )
- Theo Jansen Walker http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8Om1Tk4_5Q
- Partial 8110 pneumatic arm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqvASDfQVH0

Hi,
I'm here again to announce the latest amazing new release of my application.
Official web site: http://sr3dbuilder.altervista.org/

Here is a pair of videos to show what I'm talking about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1z0tnvz8lWw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In4xoQq6JQg

A lot of fixes and some major addiction are available. Here is a list of
changes.
Please read carefully for what pneumatic parts are currently supported. More to
come...

Fix
- Drawbrickmode: Slope parts are only partially displayed
- Extra unuseful connection added to Axleholes
- Picking a brick can cause wrong group assignment
- A lot of Pneumatic parts fixed and technic parts cleanup
- Some unwanted parts keep sliding in animation
- Pin with bush was incorrectly managed causing wasting time in animation
computation
- The ClearConsole button has no way to cancel the operation
- The Bump Mode option in Animation Console was not saved in model
- Application crashes when loading a model if it has a switch ring (part 6539)
not connected to an control handle used in AnimationConsole
- Restoring group view in big models can cause crash when hovering with mouse
over model
- Starting an animation AnimationConsole without starting a classic animation
before causes nothing to happen or application crash
- Locked Block in Animation Console was not correctly loaded from a saved model
- In animation, all parallel translation keep moving together
- Resetting animations does not reset flexible parts
- If you try to save model in the application folder you can fall into an
infinite loop
- Towbar steering has a little wrong movement when used with shock absorber
- Towbar steering could hanging when mixing steer and shock absorber
- Sloped shock absorber were not having correct slide length

Added
- Major addiction: management of some pneumatic parts
. flexible tubes and air splitters
. switches (input from central and exit from lateral connections only)
. small, medium and big pump (not connected to motor)
    . small pistons only
Pistons speed is still not correctly managed. Be patient...
- Hinge solve now can connect pneumatic pistons
- A marker showing where DrawBrickMode starts
- Alt + mouse wheel moves selection a whole brick up/down (24 instead of 8)

Changes
- to easily connect a piston to engine cylinder do the following:
Enable Alternative UI (by pressing <U> key)
align piston to cylinder moving mouse and holding LMB pressed and then
release it
correct orientation by pressing keys (you cannot click the pivot arrows
while in UI) to rotate piston (don't mind if piston will move following your
cursor)
hoove to the ball over the rod to connect the piston
Easyer to do than to explain. Try it!

That's not bad, but it did turn out kind of ... flat.

Here's what I put together (well, with virtual lego). It's a bit too big,

think it will do.
