Dino Island sets arrived in Germany!

Yesterday I spotted the new Dino Island sets in two stores ( "real" and "Spiele
Max" for all the other german AFOLS around / Are there any?).
There are ....
5920 "Island Racer" for 10 DM / $5
5921"Research Glider" for 14 DM / $7
5934 "Dino Explorer" Don't know
5935 "Island Hopper" 40 DM / $ 20
5955 "All Terrain Trapper" for 65 DM / $ 32.50
5975 "T-Rex Transport" Don't know
and the big one
5987 "Dino Research Compound" for 150 DM / $ 75.
Right now I don't have the money to buy more than an Island Racer , which is
not that interesting, but anyway, I stood there for quite some time gazing at
the boxes with some kids gazing at me gazing at those boxes...
;-)
Some comments:
First of all: We don't have to bear with bright arctic orange dinos, TLC mixed
a new plastic color, which looks pretty much like they threw some tons of
butter-scotch candy into the machines - it's kind of a light brown.
The Island Hopper looks even ten times better than in the catalogue, and for 40
DM / $20 it's nice priced as well. (Got to get some mony soon...) The colors
are well chosen, and even the helicopter model on the box backside, that you
can build from the set, looks very nice. My new favourite, I guess.
The All Terrain Trapper's box has no lid to open. TLC probably don't want
anybody to have a look at those strangely mixed up dinosaurs before they buy
it. Even if it's butter-scotch and not orange, I can't imagine it combines well
with the dark grey of the triceratops.
The T-Rex Transport: Hmm. The ship looks somehow unfinished and very ...
unexciting. The small car looks as if TLC *had* to get rid of some blue spare
parts, which ended up here.
And, at last, the Research Compound. Can't help it, but some parts of it look
like it was put together by someone who only had five or six Lego sets and had
to use up all bricks, whether appropriately colored or not, in order to finish
the set. Or, like it was a "B-Model" from the backside of another set's box.
And it looks juniorized, too, with those belville baseplate and the clumsy
plane. (Compare that to the Island Hopper!)
Well, just MHO.

Hi Norman, there are of course a lot of german AFOLs, but for some reason most of them usually only read the german LEGO forum and do not use Lugnet (it's a lot to read both). However, (...)
