Brickbury Herald 30th July 2002 Late Edition

Commerce in Brickbury is booming!

A small outdoor market opened at the bottom end of Main Street yesterday. The land which was onlu zoned last week saw major building works and with Brickbury’s usual party spirit the market was opened on Tuesday evening with a champagne and chicken nugget party for all local citizens.

The ever present Mayor Autissier, who ‘would never dream of missing a party’ spoke of the hight quality of nuggets provided by Jean-Luc Lambert, owner of the Snack Stop in the market.

The market currently contains a snack bar, surf shop and book stall although the council has approved planning permission for it to be extended up to perhaps a dozen stalls as the village grows.

The local chamber of commerce is pleased a the growth in the local economy and pledges brick grants to encourage housing projects.
