Brickbury Herald 28th July 2002 Early Edition

Citizens of Brickbury were last night celebrating at the arrival of 500 building blocks gifted in by the great town planner in the sky.

The purchase of set 4105 had every citizen partying the night away at the great sort. Bricks were sorted into colours and discusions were undertaken to decide what buildings should be built next.

‘I love this town’ said Susie Bennett a local computer programmer, ‘even though most of us do not have homes yet I just love this party atmosphere.’ Construction of an apartment block will begin in the coming days, and promises to be a festival of red bricks.

Mayor Autissier confirmed, after perhaps a little too much champagne, that plans are being drawn up for a large fancy station building. When asked if such a small town needed a large station building her only answer was ‘Piff’. As always the Herald will be the first with the news next time the mayor has too much to drink.
