Brickbury Herald 9th August 2002

‘The first summer in Brickbury history is a stunner’ said local meteorologist Simon Knight yesterday. ‘The current heat wave is set to last for the next few weeks at least and so don’t get your hopes up for too much work happening.’

With temperatures reaching well into the thirties, most of Brickbury’s residents have been layed out on the beach in the last few days, with water sports and BBQs a favourtie pastime. Mayor Autissier has lept onto the summer theame by ordering a dozen palm trees and a change in beverage to traditional summer favourites such as punch and lemonade.

Whilst attending a Hawian theamed party on the beach last night, Mayor Auttisier admitted ‘Don’t expect too much to go on here, nobody can be bothered with such beautiful weather as this.’ Brickbury’s expansion has slowed, as has been noted in previous days, but apparently everyone is at least thinking about working hard, which apparently makes this long siesta alright.

We at the Herald will continue to bring you all of the local news, no matter how hot it gets.
