Peregrine Merle

Overview 05-10-03

The Merle project, originally conceived for the sole purpose of ‘hopping’ between regions to deliver equipment or high ranking officials with mininal hazards, has been lauded as a highly successful branch of the original Chimalis line, engineered by Peregrine Corporation.

The project’s had celebrated its first season of success during the summer of 2012, when such a unit was deployed to escort sensitive military technologies to an allied Sky_Sphere without military interference from the lawless terrestrial regions or skirmish factions hailing from the rogue states which dotted the skies.

Expensive in many aspects, the unit can be remotely controlled through a secure frequency, unhackable technology which could ‘masquerade’ its output frequencies to other networks outside of the state system.

For storage, the model can capacitate one pilot, or around 200 kilograms of periphreals for transport. For potentially long transits, the pilots are given the option of taking Metabolism Inhibitors, which sustain them for the duration of the voyage.

Still, despite successes and its popularity amongst government defense officials, the Merle itself remains a highly expensive model, and is seldom used by the Military Intelligence Agency, due to its lack of defense.

Posed with such risks, Merle units are most commonly used for carrying Unites States Empirical Space Force units from terrestrial earth for diplomatic missions.

For the significance of its title, Merle stands for the old english name for a domesticated bird.
