Speaking of Thomas Train. . . I know this is horribly off-topic and Larry is
going to want my head for this, but my 2 year old really enjoys playing with the
wooden toys. I was wondering if any of you train guys knew a good place to buy
the Thomas Train wooden toys and/or a fan site for the toys so I can make more
informed buying decisions.
Also I remember someone did a Lego Thomas Train. Any links?
Thanks.

lol someone? Everyone has:-) Personally, you can check out mine
HERE and

There is a great PowerPoint preso (with PDFs as well) about LEGO Thomas trains
by Russell Clark on the ILTCO website
HERE
As far as the wooden Thomas stuff goes, they appear to me to be ubiquitous (when
it shows up at Target, that is my cue;-)

lol Well, I never claimed that a few of them might not be pure;-)
Actually, those are faces (Thomas and Percy) from 2 wind-up Ertl trains I
borrowed;-) They are the perfect size, and they served to calm the cherubs at
train shows who would at first exclaim with glee, LOOK DADDY/MOMMY! Thomas!
but in the next breath query (with mild horror) Where is Thomass face? :-)
I am convinced that, one day, TLC will get around to licensing Thomas with
HIT and the point will
become mute;-) Come to think of it, TLC has already licensed Bob the Builder,
so maybe it is already in the works...
(shudder) Could Barney be far behind? :-)

The one on the ILTCO website is way outdated.

Thanks for the info, Russ. Hey, you should drop Mike a note so he can update it
on the ILTCO site.

Considering how many different Thomas train systems are out there right
now, I dont see that "yet another" would succeed in the marketplace...

Well, I disagree. In fact, Id bet that a LEGO Thomas would easily outsell
set 10020 which IIRC is the most popular
selling LEGO train ever. Make the Thomas set a numbered, limited edition one,
and look out!
