Paul Gyugyi
("gyug")

Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Space & Technic. Blacktron, Unitron, Roboforce. Bonicle.

My fascination with LEGO began... The 585 Police set that I changed into a Batcave. Also, I replaced the armless minifig heads with clear cylinders from the moon landing set and called them Micronauts, since I couldn't afford real micronauts at the time.

I once built... A fleet of Unitron space ships. The L3G0 cad library of virtual bricks.

Someday I will build... An RCX-controlled space base for the Unitron fleet. Or an RCX-controller coal mine for a train display.

LEGO is great because... The tiny little widgets have so many uses. X-PODs rock!

LEGO fans are great because... they are friendly and creative.

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: Gameboy, Trading Cards, PalmOS, Computers

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Computer Graphics, Real-time control, Signal Processing, Networking

My favorite Foods: Sparking water & Cheerios (was: Mountain Dew & Pop Tarts)

My favorite Movies & TV: Battlestar Galactica (old & new), City of Angels (movie), La Femme Nikita

My favorite Artists: Alphonse Mucha (Art Nouveau circa 1900), Rodger Dean

My favorite Music: Yes, Poe, Gang of Four, Die Form, Nightwish, Daft Punk

My favorite Pets & Animals: Bunny Rabbits & Beagles. (but not together).

Words which best describe me: creative, pragmatic, critical

I love it when... New lego sets come out. Someone ports/improves my software. My kids and I build a diorama.

I hate it when... the .cad groups argue about pointless things while they could be writing code.

I can't seem to get enough... 4x6 plates, technic half-axle pegs, black space visors, BURPs

I always seem to have enough... monkeys, rowboats, life vests, bridges, large light & sound elements.

I hope I always... have a network connection.

I wish I could... have a long discussion with the developers who created Town Jr.

I could never... ...I think I could do pretty much anything. Or at least build a machine to do it for me.

I hope I never... lose my vision.

I wish I hadn't... given away my Micronaut toys years ago.

Believe it or not... I predicted the release of the Aquanaut theme.

If I were super-human... I'd live forever and watch humanity destroy itself.

More & Less:
  • more correct spelling, less jelosy
  • more hard work, less motivational discussions
  • more solid Christian Theology, less half-baked Christian Theology

Rules I try to live by:
  1. "Joy" comes from understanding something and then acting on that understanding to create something.
  2. I no longer trust that which I desire.
  3. When you stop searching for enlightenment, you will find it.
