Favorite LEGO toys/themes: it's gotta be _half-price clearance_!

My fascination with LEGO began... when I was seven. My grandmother bought me a basic set - it had a windmill on the front of the box. I was hooked. At the time my parents were basically too poor to afford meat (we ate lots of beans) so I had no opportunity to get more, but I played with that set every day. I stopped around age 10 only occasionally revisiting it over the next few years. Then, in 1997 I noted r.t.l. and got back into LEGO with my new found adult income and a son of my own.

I once built... islands for ESPG.

Someday I will build... a giant island with internal caverns for minifigs to explore.

LEGO is great because... the system is cognitively stimulating, open ended, great for all ages, constructive instead of destructive, interactive with other kinds of toys, educational, very high quality, and frequently on sale.

LEGO fans are great because... they have built the nicest organized community on the web. Thanks everyone!

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: Software.

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Games, technology, games, fiction, games, computers, fine wine, ceramic art, games, etc.

My favorite Foods: Vegetarian

My favorite Movies & TV: Aliens, American Beauty, Dirty Dancing, Payback, True Romance, Predator, Strictly Ballroom, Star Wars, Babe, and other movies - TV (mostly) sucks.

My favorite Artists: Chuck Hinds, Peter Pinnel, Ron Meyers, Maria Martinez, and lots of other ceramists that I can't think of right now.

My favorite Music: Everything! Classical, Tuvan throat singing, rockabilly, They Might Be Giants, Wagnerian Opera, ca. 1990 Chicago industrial (Waxtrax, etc.), and lots of other stuff.

My favorite Pets & Animals: 6 Cats, no rats, no fish, lots of plants, and lots of bugs.

Words which best describe me: Learning.

I love it when... I own a house that can really be my sanctuary.

I hate it when... I act childish, and know that I am doing so, but still feel that way.

I can't seem to get enough... time and money. It seems that I can have only one of the two. Curses!

I always seem to have enough... stuff, frustration, reading material, junk mail, yardwork, cats.

I hope I always... survive.

I wish I could... retire, breathe water, communicate with lower animals better, leave this planet.

I could never... I dunno. I think people are pretty flexible, and I'm having a hard time thinking of something that I could never do.

I hope I never... die, forget how to have fun, become allergic to cats, lose a child.

I wish I hadn't... wasted the years that I was in public school, been mean, passed on military service.

In my craziest moments... I am the most sane...or maybe it's when I'm in a murderous rage.

Believe it or not... I am right handed.

If I were super-human... I would dominate the world and force you all to serve my whim. (But that's just a guess.)

More & Less:
  • more straightforward honesty, less formal clothing
  • more respect for the other animals, less religious intolerance
  • more Money, less Money

Rules I try to live by:
  1. Create, rather than destroy options for me and everyone.
  2. Be a nice guy.
  3. Never lie.
