Favorite LEGO toys/themes: Robotics, train, technic

My fascination with LEGO began... 1965, at age 3. My parents got me LEGOs first train set (#323)

I once built... Fully automated RCX operated trains, RCX operated R2D2, a SCOUT PBrick demiltiplexer for multiple MicroScout control, and some custom bricks, for example an bidirectional IR RF transceiver compatible with nearly all LEGO IR stuff that fits into 3 stacked 2x4's, and much more ...

Someday I will build... An RCX controlled turntable for 9V trains and much more, a big train yard maybe

LEGO is great because... It is facinating at age 3, 10, 20, 40, ... to play with LEGOs. A brick form 1965 attaches well to a brick from 2008. Playing with LEGO is stimulating creativity, enhances engineering skills, building skills (also with other materials), 3D vision, programming skills, it does so many good things that can hardly be listed here all.

LEGO fans are great because... They share their ideas, they share their projects, they help other people, they are passionate about their hobby, are motivated and the term impossible is not in their repertoire

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: Micro-controllers, mass spectrometers, lasers

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: Environment, making stuff, my family

My favorite Foods: virtually everything but sweet stuff

My favorite Movies & TV: Ghostbusters, MASH

My favorite Artists: Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Donald Sutherland

My favorite Music: Grobschnitt, Rockmusic in general

My favorite Pets & Animals: Our dog Luzie

Words which best describe me: Good idea, go for it

I love it when... students have that particular "I got it" look in their eyes - in a thermodynamics class starting at 8 am.

I hate it when... when people whine about their work load

I can't seem to get enough... Well, that is easy: LEGO bricks.

I always seem to have enough... administrative stuff to do - I hate that

I hope I never... run out of ideas

If I were super-human... I would make mankind smart enough to run this planet carefully and properly. And not like idiots.

More & Less:
  • more care about a sustainable living style, less waste of resources
  • more care about poor countries, less spending money on weapons and other stupid things
