Wayne Hussey

Favorite LEGO toys/themes: the Elements! In 1985 I began a never-ending quest to acquire each element LEGO ever produced - this does not consider color, but does consider printing. I have managed to get close to 98 percent of all the elements I know.

My fascination with LEGO began... when I was a kid - although I never bought any until I was 21 - hoo boy did I miss an opportunity or ten!

I once built... a little Ferry Boat that used every piece I owned. No matter what I build now, I'll never be able to use EVERY piece again (1,000,000+ probably closer to 2,000,000)

Someday I will build... a 10 foot tall Space Needle (Microfig scale).(edit)This was written in 2004. In 2012, I completed a 14 ft tall model of the Space Needle! (First and only displayed at BrickCon!)

LEGO is great because... it's like the pixels on a computer - infinitely adaptable and infinitely reusable.

LEGO fans are great because... they dream.

My favorite Non-LEGO Toys: There are non-LEGO toys?

My favorite Hobbies & Interests: BrickCon, Designing/Building and Collecting LEGO

My favorite Movies & TV: Sci-Fi and Sci-Fi

My favorite Artists: Many, mostly Sci-Fi

My favorite Music: Rock

My favorite Pets & Animals: Purrl, JP and Gertrude, our cats.

Words which best describe me: precisionist, planner, organizer, thinker

I love it when... LEGO comes out with new elements.

I hate it when... LEGO discontinues a really useful element.

I can't seem to get enough... LEGO and time and money together.

I always seem to have enough... 1x2 and 2x2 bricks.

I wish I could... keep up with all the activities I want to do.

I hope I never... lose my interest in LEGO.

I wish I hadn't... broken that rare element :-( I replaced it! :-)

If I were super-human... What do you mean "if"?

More & Less:
  • more time to build with LEGO, less time spent making money to buy LEGO.
  • more LEGO to build with, less cost to get it.
  • more space to store LEGO (pieces and completed creations), less external distractions.

Additional comments:

I have been collecting LEGO for more than a quarter century. During that time, I have seen The LEGO Company go through some amazing changes. I can hardly wait to see what's in store (pun intended) for the next quarter century.
