There was really nothing wrong with the sets I got. There was no
scratches on any of the windows I got in the box, only a bit of
dust.

Originally released in 1986 for $35 US.

This set is in the Castle Theme and was released in October, 2003.
This was 1 of 3 sets Lego released based on MY Opinion poll it released
on its web-site.

It is $40 US, has 424 pieces, while the original had 435 pieces.

The release has a colored box that makes it look like a retail set.

The piece difference reflects the decision not to include the extra
pieces to make the alternate model(s) included in instruction.

I generally think the set is smallish, but there is some nice detail to it.

Originally released in 1980 for unknown amount
most likely $60 US).

This set is in the City/Town Theme and was released in
November 2003. This was 1 of 3 sets Lego released based
on MY Opinion poll it released on its web-site.

It is $65 US, has 616 pieces, while the original had 568 pieces.
The difference represents the use of grey plates in the new
edition, where as the original had one-piece grey pieces for
the crane assembly. This is a down-grade because you cannot
put the hotel sign up in the new edition.

The original had a nice tray included, where as the new edition
doesn’t. The original had a nice Cyphress tree, new edition
doesn’t have it. The instruction manual in the new edition
has pictures of the original included most likely by mistake,
and the paper used is really, really poor quality.

The original had one-piece “classic” wheels, the new edition
has the “new style” wheen assembly, which in this case is as
good or better, since the wheels are still red. The new
edition is also a really, really great source for white window
frames. The box is colored making it look like a retailed set.

Originally released in 1978 for an unknown amount
most likely $60 US.

This set is in the Universal Model Theme, and was
released in March, 2003.

It is $60 US, and has 973 pieces, while the original had
1033 pieces.

The difference most like represents the original having
pieces for the alternate model, where as the new edition
does not (this is just my assumption). The new edition
does not have the 1x1 yellow windows, it uses the 1x1
yellow head-light pieces instead. The new edition comes
comes with a nice poster inside.

The box is in color and it is really awesome with the
late 60’s era male youth in “classic Luke Skywalker-style
hair”. A great source for black elements.
