My rant about having a Canadian LEGO Festival.

Hey everyone,

It looks like we are beginning to plan a LEGO festival in Canada. To be more specific, we are planning on having it in Ontario.

Those of you who have experience participating in multi-day events, your input of experience would be greatly appreciated.

Those of you who might be interested in attending, please let us know by emailing ParLUGment so I can get an idea of numbers. If possible, let us know what themes you are interested in having featured.

What sort of events would take place at a major lego get-together. Those of us (I'm slightly speaking for the group) in Toronto, think there would have to be some sort of major Robotics competition, AND large-scale Train Event/Show. I'm pretty sure (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.org.ca.monlug, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment)

One major issue is that the Dominion of Canada is huge. So much so, NELUG is closer to rtlToronto than VLC. This has caused us to consider scaling back, geographically that is, although all our fellow Canucks are most certainly welcome, that goes for Flames, and Oilers too ;-) I personally would love to see the West hold a fest as well.

Of course, the most important thing is the name of the festival. A list of suggested names can be seen here.

There are a lot of holes right now, things are in the tossing ideas around stage and the timing of the event will probably be at least summer 2002, if not later.

Everyone who can contribute, in a positive manner, please do so.
