WARNING! If your eyes are sensitive to yellow, you had better not view this page. However if you like construction equipment you are in the right place.

My name is Nathan Bell. Thank you for viewing my webpage. I am from Gahanna, Ohio (USA) and have been building since 1982. I am 28 years old and work for an architect in Columbus as a drafter.

Well, enough about me- you probably just want to see my designs. The above picture is an excavator I finished in January of 2005. It was my first Lego design that really got noticed by other builders.

My latest completed Lego project is a motorized Bulldozer (above). Its a good match for TLC’s (The Lego company’s) new 8275 bulldozer design which should be released later this year. TLC’s design is remote controlled, but this one can be controlled from the driver’s seat.

Last year I only completed one design, but to this day the above road grader is my most complex design. Its functions include a blade with 4 axis of movement, steering, and a moving engine. The steering and all the pneumatics can be controlled from the cabin.

Incorporating non-Lego parts into my Lego projects is something I used to do quite frequently. The above telescopic handler is a design completed in mid-2005, utilizing an 8” Bimba pneumatic piston to extend the fork arm.

Being one of my smallest MOCs, this wheel loader was surprisingly a very hard design to create. It had to be compact and yet contain all the basic functions of a real wheel loader. Lego developed a kit in 1997 that was the sime size as this one but in a totally diferent scale. The only thing my design shares with Lego’s is the front bucket and 2 differentials.

Currently in progress is something never before done with Legos- a pretzel chipper (below).

Also in progress is my largest single creation of all time, a remote control crane. The below picture is blurry because my hands shake when taking an exciting picture. The boom is currently 4’-2”

Do I only do designs of construction machinery?- Well; not exactly. My current theme is construction equipment and almost every design you see is still together. They are part of a complete Lego construction fleet which is in progress. I used to build everything including sports cars. Lego has only in the last several years developed pieces that allowed for compact, lightweight, curvy designs. The yellow car below is one example of what I used to build. Its engine head is on the table in front of it to show the pistons.

Besides Legos, I also like drawing in AutoCAD and recently completed a Dodge Viper design for my cousin in December (2006).

You may be thinking that an angineering degree is required to do designs like this, but all it takes is experience and A LOT of patience.
