B5 Starfury
This is a model of the Earth Alliance Starfury fighter from the sci-fi TV show Babylon 5. The black Omega Squadron version is flown by elite Psi-Corps personnel.
Builder’s Notes
- This was a very difficult build, even with a completed reference model of the Revell/Monogram Starfury kit in front of me. I think it was mainly because the Starfury has many angles which don’t match Lego wing/wedge angles very well. In fact, I’d say this was the most difficult LEGO model I’ve ever tried to build.
- The thruster vanes are smaller than would be accurate - this is a conscious choice, partly because I prefer them to be smaller, and I also felt that the bent tips of the minifig skis give a more authentic look that helps make up for the size discrepancy.
