DraKen Role Playing Game Character Development

Character Development.

Okay, after some thought, I decided to outline the process towards character creation in my Castle RSF Drak’en. Anyway, the theory goes that your character can start out from two points, male, or female, and go from there.

1. From the beginning, you can choose either Male or Female for your character. You may also designate which character is a leader, but only one can function as this.

2. You then move on to race. You can either choose from Human, Asceria, Fey’rian or Hybrid.

3. Following suit, you may wosh to choose a “tag” for your character, such as an attribute like Undead, Dragon, Demon, Spirit, or define your own tag.

4. You may choose a second tag if your character transforms into another creature. For example Rivera can change into a werewolf, or Chiba can morph into a bird.

5. If you decided not to choose a tag, or if you have already, now you can choose your element. It doesn’t matter what you choose, though. It’s up to you. Fire, Water, Lightning, Sky, Earth, Shadow, Wind.

6. After choosing your element, go ahead and pick your character rank. Peasant, Guildsmen, Nobility, or Foreigner.

7. Now, the final step. Simply choose the best class your character is suited to. Go to the classes page and pick out a class. For quick reference, the classes are: Acolyte, Alchemist, Wizard, Artifacer, Swordsman, Knight, Vagrant, Archer and Mercantalist. Also, you may wish to choose a secondary class for your character.

Fin. Afterall of these steps, you’ve created a character. There aren’t any guidelines for the actual character form, but try to keep it close to original. For example, you’re not likely to find a Samurai wizard with a visored helmet running around the battlefield. A plumed hat or hood is okay, though, since wizards wear light armor, and usually carry staves.

Secondary classes

Let’s say our character, Rivera decides to choose a secondary class Vagrant in addition to his original occupation Wizard. This only means that Rivera can pick one skill or ability of the Vagrant, and place it on the skills list. If both a secondary class and tag ability was chosen, the character can choose only one of the two.

Tag abilities

If your character happened to pick any tag abilities, you can select one of the random skills listed below, and place it in your characters skill list.

ability, regeneration, recovery of 3 Ap per turn
ability, transform, character undergoes metamorphosis
and changes into another creature, more perks, but
casting time is one turn.

Anyway, here’s a sample character (with abbreviations) It doesn’t matter whether you abbreviate or not, but this should be included with your character information :P)

Osprey is a L(M,Hn,(no tags),Sky,Nob,Alc(Kn))

In short, Osprey is a Male Human, with no tag abilities, Sky elemental noble employed as an Alchemist, but also has training as a knight, and is the leader of the party. That should describe your character more than enough. Simple, no?

You don’t need to include your extra class, but the leader of your party should have an L at the front of their description, to show they are general.
