Okay, my son strikes again:-)  Here are some pics of his 4 wide Soo
engine and a 3 wide Thomas:

The Soo utilizes some HO passenger trucks that I had purchased to use on
my 4 wide Hiawatha passenger car:

We will have to find some Blombergs somewhere for his loco.  It is our
intention to try and run our 4 wide train on HO track some time--
perhaps at a train show if the future.

I think we are gassed out on smaller scale stuff; my son just had his
11th birthday and got Vision Command-- he's already made about 10 stop
action movies!  Maybe I'll post some of those down the pike.  But as for
me; now it's back to 8 wide and 14 wide{:^D  I'll keep you
all...er...posted;-)

Now that SOO is some kinda cool. Nice detail work considering the size. Perhaps
even cooler than the 2wides, and I did like those.
The cab needs to be just a bit higher - perhaps a plate under the cab roof
tiles would be enough. Might be too much, but can't hurt to try it.
The ends desperately need some kind of greeblies hanging off - maybe replace
the black 1x4 with the technic equivalent, then add the chopped light grey
stud-pins to all three holes. Stick a black 1x1 joystick on the outer studs,
then some kinda.. something or other on the middle one. You could also create a
specialized Kadee pin for when you stick it on HO rails.
Speaking of which, it wouldn't surprise me if someone out there makes powered
trucks, so you could have this loco pulling a (probably very short) train...

Now if those are half as neat as his train creations, I for one wanna see 'em.

I for one am awaiting the eventual(inevitable?) 14wide locomotive... I highly
doubt I'll get to it before you do, I've only got the one 8wide creation so
far...
