I don't know if anyone else has found a solution to the lack of spare tyres
in the UK for 12 volt trains, but I have found a much more durable
substitute. Heat shrink cable sleeving. and it works!

I find my purism wavering enough to accept this, especially since TLG
doesn't make fresh spares (rubber DOES age, even in the package). I also
bought a decalled engine from Steve B., and I recently prised the window
glass out of one of those 6 pane doors to try reversing it. Looked good.
No qualms. Am I heretic? :-)
