Hay All!

Just got an email back from Mr. Fujita, the man who made the original Star Wars
Trilogy from Legos. Here is the email he sent me.

Mr. Jeremy Crawford,

Thank you for your E-mail.
I'm going to answer for your questions.

1. How long did it take you from start to finish to
build and photograph the movies?

For three years I spared time after work to do it.

2. How many LEGO pieces did you have in this project?

During that time I bought LEGO sets one by one
for their parts which I needed.
But I made Millennium Falcon with 9079 pieces.
That's all I know.

3. If you have the new LEGO Star Wars sets over in
Japan, what do you think of them?

I just wanted LEGO Star Wars, so I made it.
It is interesting to see the LEGO Star Wars sets manufactured
from a different angle.

4. Do you plan to make a LEGO movie of Episode One The
Phantom Menace?

Already LEGO sets of Episode one have been on sale here,
I won't try it.
I'm making a new one. It is Fifth Element of  Luc Besson.

One of my acquaintances who likes LEGO,
came to my house a few days ago.
He has his website, and added my room's report and pictures.
It is written by Japanese.
But if you are interested, you can take a look.

My English version will be completed by the end of February.
I will tell you about the news personally.

============================================================================

As for myself, the pics for my page should be up soon. I took some but they did
not turn out too well so I will try again soon. I bought a Slave 1 a few weeks
and I am messing with it. So far I have made it about 6 studs wider and 8 studs
longer. I also made the tail larger from 4 studs across to 6 studs across. It's
a behemoth, I tell you! I think it is pretty close to minfig scale now. I have
also been trying to make it so Boba Fett's seat can lean back and forth like it
should for flight and landing. If they only separated the helmet and the jet
pack! It would be so easy to do it then! Well that's all the news I have for
now.

Happy Building,

Jeremy Crawford

Please keep us posted if you hear from Mr. Fujita. I am very interested in
seeing this (and his others) movie. I fumbled through the pics on his web
site - but got lost. I can't find the link that will take me to where I can
SEE the movie. This is probably because I can't read the site... I know - I
am pitiful.

Keep us updated...

I vaugly considered rendering ghostbusters in the brick (the virtual brick, via
ldraw anyway) but relised that the figs alone would be a pain in the ass.

If you click around on that website, you'll find part of the movie rendered in
bricks.  VERY impressive.

i didn't understand a word of it, but know the movie well, and these are
some flawless models! ~even better than the starwars stuff. every detail
from "the fifth element" is accurately and ingeniously portrayed here.

kudos!

the models Mr. Fujita made for the movies)
