That is one, cool model, Eric. Those click-hinges look like they
work real well for that type of thing, it makes it very posable as you
mentioned. The number of different ways the legs could be positioned
would make for numerous positions the walker could be in.

I have posted a few more pics for the walker I created.

There is also a picture of the top of the walker and 2 pictures of the

Once again let me know what you think

I for one have become a big fan of the click-hinges.  Occasionally they do seem
too tight and will separate from the model like they do in some of the official
LEGO models but when secured tightly like they are on the SnowSpeeder wings and
the X-Wing wings they are great.  Their strengh became quite apparent in my
Walker model.

I just wish there were more colors of click-hinges as well as more click-hinge
plates.  I guess it is a relatively new part so hopefully time will help
increase their variety.

In the 2000 town construction digger, there appear to be a couple new
click-hing plates.  Of course they are yellow, which may not be much help to
you.  But I'm sure they will show up in SW as well.  I just wish they would
quit using them for cockpits.  They are too strong for cockpits, and take up
too much room.  The X-wing cockpit would be more usefull if it was hinged like
other cockpit pieces.

Well I just went back to the 2000 catalog to have a look.  If you look on this
page I actually see Yellow, Red, Black, and White click hinges all on this one
page.

http://www.brickshelf.com/scans/catalogs/2000/c00am-100dpi/c00am-26.html

There are the yellow ones on the digger plus there might be a black on
attaching the digger arm to the body of the truck.  Then if you look at the new
fire station the light on the side of the station is made up of a white and red
click hinge combination and on the fire truck the support leg is a white w/red
stripe hinge connected to the truck with a black click hinge.

It is funny I saw so many on this page where I don't see any on the other
pages.  Although I am sure at least the B-Wing has some for its wings but I
expect them to be the Gray-male dkGray-female combination we have seen so much
of allready.

Well it definitly looks like a dkGray-male although the female hinge is hard to
make out.  My guess is either Black or dkGray.  The dkGray-male is good enough
for me though.  It will be nice to finally have a male/female combination in
the same color.

From what I can tell, these are the new Click Hinge pieces coming out:

1x6 brick, hinges at either end (blue, yellow, gray)
1x4 brick, hinges at either end (yellow, white, red)
1x2 brick, hinges at either end (yellow, white, red)
1x2 brick, Center side Hinge (white?,yellow, red,d.gray?)
Click Hinge w/Socket (Red)
Digger Bucket w/Click Hinge (Yellow)

New colors for old Click Hinges:
1x2 Click Hinge, Male (Black)
1x2 Click Hinge, Female (Black)

Oh, and about the male/female in the same color (for the 1x2 w/end hinges),
just buy an X-Wing and a Sith Infiltrator, swap the males from each set, and
voila! Eight pairs of Dark Gray hinges and eight pairs of regular Gray Hinges.
:)

Well, this is weird...!!!!   I have male and female click hinges EACH in
BOTH light and dark grey! This is from '99 SW sets too.
I have tons of lt-female + dk-male, and eight of the dk-female + lt-male.
Eight is not a stand-out number, unfortunately.
I suspect the Mos Espa Pod Race set, myself. Sorting its pieces was when I
first noticed them.... Can anyone verify or refute this?
Another possible reason to buy this set, as well as the nice green and
orange plates and cones....

The Sith Infiltrator is the one that comes with the reversed colors, eight of
each.

You know I checked my infiltraitor last night I I could have sworn it had
lt-female and dk-male.  This is driving me crazy lately because I have all the
SW sets (Many multiple times) and I can't put together a matching pair anywhere
and they are sorted but male and female.  I guess I could have messed up or
something.

I guess I know what I am going to be doing tonight.  Seaching through every
click hinge I own looking for a dkgray-female and gray-male click hinges.

I just hope you all aren't pulling my leg ;-)

Don't forget to check stuff you made, they might be hiding!  I'm pretty sure
7151 is the set that comes with the reversed colors(1); have you checked the
instructions?  I know that there is a set that does, but I may be mistaken
about which set.

OK found'em.  They are not in the Sith Infiltraitor they are in Sebulba's Pod

it is still on display.  Although this may now change very soon so I can

I was just wondering if anyone else thought that this was odd?  Why would LEGO
use Gray-female and dkGray-male click hinges in all of the 1999 Star Wars
models except one then reverse the colors for that set (Sebulba's Pod)?

This is especially odd to me because of all the models the hinges in Sebulba's
Pod are probably the least visible of the hinges in any of the models.  Would
it not have been more cost effective of them to run the same colors for
Sebulba's Pod as they did for the other sets?

Don't get me wrong I am happy to find I actually have matching hinges now but
it just seems strange to me that LEGO would have made the change for one set.
They could have easily used the colors that were running on their manufacturing
lines for the other sets.

Woo hoo!!!  I win!!!

Yeah, it couldn't have been the Sith Infiltrator because I definitely have
only eight of these hinges, yet I have bought and sorted four Sith
Infiltrators.
Great set! Mmmmm, grey...... ;-)
