Imagine if you will, Chris Giddens, Paul Hartzog and myself in line at the
DC outlet store for Brickfest.  As I steam to myself that someone went early
and cleared the shelves of aquazone, we start throwing ideas around.  And
then it came-- inspiration.  Here's the first in what I think is going to be
a very fun project.  The Kingdom of the Sea Monkeys.

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=22004

Whats great about this project is that there are a lot of new things to
consider.  For instance, what would their homes/bases look like since they
swim rather than walk?  How would they have evolved technology?  How do they
place themselves in vehicles?  These are just some of the things I'm really
excited about exploring.

Thanks, Chris and Paul, for the help.  More to come.

I looked. I'm in awe.
Whoohoo for the arrival of the seamonkeys :-D
(its about time)

i can't wait to see more of these
working in undersea cooperation w/ humans
exploring, building, and sharing their
knowledge of the seas
(until someone comes along and enslaves
them in a big jar for a zoo)

:-D

Build a Sea Monkey Embassy for the base, too... ;)

This is seriouslt cool.  I wasn't there for the main discussion but I
remember hearing something about a big sea monkey bowl. :-)

Using those radar clip things for big fins is *genius*.
And the zoomzoom is friggin cool.  I think I'll actually make one of these
guys.  Maybe even with the radar clip part with the hologram sticker.

Can't wait to see more.

More creations will surely be on the way.  My objective is to kind of spoof
the comic book ads...
http://www.sea-monkeys.com/html.html

...but at the same time make them a very cool sci-fi species complete with
subs/ starfighters/ bases that make space building fun.  Thanks for the
encouragement!

I have a couple of ideas for some vehicles in the Sea Monkey world.  Would
you be averse to me borrowing the concept and doing some stuff as well?

Not like I'm going to have any free time or anything any time soon though.
The carpet goes into my basement this weekend, and then begins the long,
painful process of moving and resorting my entire 200K+ piece collection
down a flight of stairs.

Feel free, I'm excited to see what you come up with.  What ideas did you
have off-hand?

Now that would be giving away trade secrets, and we can't have that, now can we?

This sentence just doesn't parse quite right, but immediately brings
visions of the resorting which could be necessary after the inevitable
"oops" while moving LEGO up or down stairs...

*phew*  It looked suspiciously like a piece from certain MB sets...  Upon
closer inspection, that's a very interesting canopy piece.  How exactly does
it attach?

Ahh, Jack Stone, you are a fearless cheerleader for Aquazone, aren't you.
Now that my first moonbase module is completed, who knows what will come up
next...
