Re: Reviving old cybermasters with MacNQC

(...) Indeed :( ... so I only check here from time to time. You would probably get faster answers on Mindboards (https://sourceforge...ndex.php). (...) Memory is very low, about 400 bytes!   Reviving old cybermasters with MacNQC

Hi all, yes I know, this group has been dormant for quite a while - however when digging through my older Mindstorms items last weekend, I also found two cybermaster units and became curious if they were still operational. The software is of course (...) (13 years ago, 10-Mar-11, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Set 8482

(...) There exist programs (not sure where) that can convert a video file into a series of still images. From there, it could be converted into a set of building instructions. (14 years ago, 17-Jul-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Set 8482

(...) I found the files. The trick is that they NOT in the directory which is installed on your hard drive when you install the software, they remain on the CD so you have to look inside the ISO file. Since these are all video files (MOV), it is (...) (14 years ago, 16-Jul-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Set 8482

(...) The building instructions are contained in .mov files. (yeah, I know, not really practical, but it's what you can get.) The files are located under /shared/build. Jetro (14 years ago, 15-Jul-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Set 8482

(...) I downloaded the image and installed the software, but I can't find any files that seem to represent the building instructions, even with hidden files shown. Which directory are the file in? Eric Albrecht (14 years ago, 15-Jul-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Set 8482

(...) XP doesn't like the Cybermaster CD because o a compatibility issue with QuickTime. You can still get access to the building instructions though. Just make sure you change folder properties so it'll show hidden files and folders. Jetro (14 years ago, 13-Jul-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Set 8482

Hello again, It is a dutch version of cybermaster software. And it needs to be run on windows 98 or something like that. It doesn't like windows XP or windows 7 Greetings, Maico Arts Op 27-6-2010 20:43, Jetro de Chateau schreef: (...) (14 years ago, 13-Jul-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Set 8482

(...) Thanks The robotics Cybermaster group looks dead - nothing for 2 years. I do not have the remote control (RF tower), as I found in the papers and invetory. I dont have time, but I am thinking of taking the elektronics out and building my own. (...) (14 years ago, 27-Jun-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Cybermaster on WinXP

(...) If you get error 8065006D at start-up, that means you have an incompatible QuickTime environment. Cybermaster will only run with Quicktime 6.4 or lower. It;'s NOT compatible with version 7 onwards. Lego Technical Support have confirmed this to (...) (16 years ago, 4-Jun-08, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Cybermaster Win XP Fix

As well as using Windows95 Compatibility Mode, you also have to ensure you're running QuickTime 6.4 or lower (or you get startup error 8065006D). Cybermaster is not compatible with the latest (version 7 and up as at May 2008) versions of Quicktime, (...) (16 years ago, 4-Jun-08, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Cybermaster on WinXP

(...) I found changing the Registry settings unnecessary, but you DO need to run it in Windows95 Compatibility mode, as described elsewhere on this newsgroup. I have also found, and Lego Tech Support have confirmed, that Cybermaster will only run (...) (16 years ago, 4-Jun-08, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: Custom sensors on the cybermaster

(...) Oops, I didn't realize that. In that case it might be perfectly allright with me, because I will need to set the light sensor against a dedicated light source anyway. Sensitivity would be just sufficient in that case, I guess. Thanks Jürgen, (...) (17 years ago, 1-Dec-06, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: Custom sensors on the cybermaster

Hi Jerry, (...) It's not that useless, the light sensor also works passively, it's just even less sensitive than in active mode. Jürgen (17 years ago, 29-Nov-06, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: Custom sensors on the cybermaster

(...) Good I found this post today - I was just about to fool around w/ one of my spare cybermasters and hook up the RIS light sensors to it. So that's obviously a useless attempt, as the active sensors won't do a thing. Which in turn means that in (...) (17 years ago, 28-Nov-06, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: Custom sensors on the cybermaster

Hi John, (...) maybe that curve corresponds to a 10k Pullup-Resistor to 5V? (...) Yes, on the RCX it is 0 to 5V with 10 bit resolution. I'd suppose the Cybermaster is compatible with that, except that it cannot provide power to active sensors. (...) (18 years ago, 27-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Custom sensors on the cybermaster

I've managed to get communication up and running from labview to the cybermaster, and noticed as I was testing different resistors as sensors that the values returned is following a curve. This suggests to me that the inputs on the cybermaster are (...) (18 years ago, 24-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)
